Yep. They should already have 2 lists drawn up. Obviously some players could well be in both.

Not sure about the one today, if it's took a big deflection right in front of him he's unlucky, can't quite tell from that angle.

There is no bigger priority in a team than having a capable keeper, ( and striker)
You win nothing with a poor keeper, everybody knows that

We have got an adequate player hes called Patterson and he, like many of our U23 team is being ignored in favour of serial failures. One point from the last 12 is a wake up call, and if I was KLD I would be thinking we need a coach who does more than talk the talk.

I would have saved that would a broken arm. The blokes a liability. The only reason he’s got so many clean sheet is down to our defence, nothing to do with him.

well i said i did not want to blame him for yet another mistake as the angle did not show any deflections or if he had a good view...watched the video over and over and still cannot decide, but, for some reason he starts outside of his post but at the point of the save it looks like he might have jumped to his left and dropped to his right to save rather than just dropping to his left.

he has cost us points across the season, that is without question, and you accept and expect 'keepers to have the odd costly blunder but he really needs to be replaced asap as he has far more than the odd one.

Honestly the worst keeper in the league.

He should of kept it out I agree but it should never have been anywhere near him I think it was leadbetter who played yet another ball towards his own goal and Wright could maybe have done better

as far back as i can clearly remember, sunderland has always had a decent to good 'keeper, the occasional very good one but the last three especially have filled me with dread...i always feel if you have a lad between the sticks that gives you confidence, the defence carries that confidence and they basically know they can rely on each other.

If we had Jon McLaughlin in goal we would be promoted by now imo.

Seriously, people would rather have Lee Camp instead of Burge? ****ing hell, Burge is ****e, but some people really like a bit of hyperbole on here.

He’s actually ranked 3rd in the league. He has a better clean sheet%, save% and more pens saved than Hull, Peterborough, Blackpool, Portsmouth and Lincoln’s keepers.

He’s faced 96 shots on target and saved 74 of them ( 75% ). It’s harsh to blame him for yesterday’s goal as the ball deflected off the bottom of Bailey Wrights boot when he missed his kick.

And Burge’s stats are better than Jon Mac managed in two seasons in league 1 with us.

Couple that with a back four that includes Power and McFadz. which LJ constantly reverts too and still some wonder at why we have collapsed so dramatically, its all down to opinions I agree, but really this blind uncritical support must be a con mans dream.

Never been fully convinced by Burge, decent enough but I think we could get better.

maybe he is just 'par for the course' for this league then... i remember saying very early in the season that one reason our defence looked so good was because teams just did not seem to attack us, whether there are any stats to back that up i have no idea but we have always looked vulnerable when teams come at us, also, with our mainly makeshift defence i think our midfield has sat further back to protect it...could also explain why we dont score as many as we perhaps should.

Looking at this over and over:headbang:, is it Leadbitter who kicks it to the left wing.....ideal for the Blackpool player.....and then drifts away from his man who was the one then given space to shoot and score. Burge couldn’t do much about the deflection and there were players obstructing his view.
****e goal for the team to give away though<doh>

There is no way you can justify that, it was poor goalkeeping. How have we ended up with these two clowns as our first team keepers? Secure the play offs and give Patterson a go. I’m honestly not having he can be any worse.
