Great to see that our CDs of songs and chants from the terraces are now on sale on line at Leeds United. A great Father's Day present if you haven't already bought one. All costs have been paid so all profits will go to the Leeds United Academy/Foundation. https://mailchi.mp/leedsunited/retail-2022-june-14?e=1a754c1de3 please log in to view this image
I wish lol but it would only be those who took part in the actual recordings!! Realistically, no one was ever going to make anything personally, any profits were always intended to go to the Leeds United academy/foundation. I personally put my money on the line to get this done as long as I got this back as soon as enough CDs were sold because I knew that was the only way we could achieve our goal. I didn't feel happy about fundraising to get them produced but proud to achieve this in the end.
Well done lass! I mistakenly assumed this was a club issue & recorded live, from the stadium during matches. Oops!
No it took 4 years in getting this over the line and only by me never giving up, using sheer resilience and determinations (instilled in me by Billy Bremner), was the end product achieved. I've typed up all the words of every song (we went for the earliest known versions) and ended up with over 200 different songs and chants from the terraces from the 1960s onwards which a group of Leeds fans got together to sing. Don't think any other set of fans have ever done anything like this but as they all kept telling us "we've only got one song", we've proved that wrong!
As usual, brilliant effort I go back to the 60s and always remember the Arsenal games “Bertie Mee said to Don Revie Have you heard of the North Bank Highbury Don said no I dont think so But Ive heard of the Gelderd bootboys” just stick with me for some reason
Blimey, 200 songs !! Superb effort. Never really understood why other clubs say we've only got one song.
Glad you got the right ending there lol. Boots boys came before aggro but obviously shows my age oops
Thanks. There are still so many that weren't included some just because they had been forgotten and others because they couldn't be included for obvious reasons. The main instigators in getting this off the ground was myself, big Mick Hewitt from South Kirkby, Gary Edwards and Tony Winstanley. We were helped with the words by Collar who used to lead the Kop in the 70s and Philip Dobreen now living in Israel who used to take his guitar into the Scratching Shed in the 60s.
