maybe I wasn’t clear, it’s highly unusual for any team to have better away form than home form… my point was about the press and fading in games. and don’t worry… sure we’ll do just fine at anfield
So should we adopt a different approach away from home ? At the moment we're going toe-to-toe and it's clearly is not working.
well there’s an argument for parking the bus and hoping to fluke something on the break. if you look at it game by game: Southampton… clearly the better side… then concede one, poop ourselves and end up with a draw. Brighton, outplayed by a decent side Brentford.. just a freak game. Thought we were the better side and everything that could go wrong did. Palace. Completely dominant. Then they score with their first foray into our half.. and we seem to lose heart/belief. Leicester, we started ok, then gift them a goal. Just a terrible game. Apparently we made them look like Brasil, have to say turn the commentary off and it was just a dire game where they won 2-0 with 5 shots and only 1 on target. Sure they were ‘protecting their lead’ and we created disappointingly little, but it was hardly a drubbing. My point really is, if we parked the bus we’d create less and very likely still make stupid fckg mistakes, as we’d be under pressure and see less of the ball. If we had some big bruising centre halves then maybe… but ours were bought under bielsa to play out from the back. They just don’t do it all that well.
There is surely a middle ground in between parking the bus and always having so many players in advanced positions that we're continually conceding to an overload at the back post. It's very apparent now that we're in trouble and something needs to change.
Seem to remember some comment from Marsch, that if he has to he would change the style and formation. Well it's time for that if so, 4-4-2 or 4-4-1-1 would suit us imo
Some of our crew heading at 3 am from south of ireland to make the ferry. Long day ahead. Off to the bed myself
I’m come to the conclusion that regardless of the result today I think Marsch needs to go, no clear tactics and being found out easily. Get him gone whilst we still have plenty of games left to salvage it. We should’ve been building on what we had with Bielsa by losing the man marking and buying better players. He’s not all to blame but feeling like we’ve gone backwards under him.
