If that's the case, I hope we can replace him in January with someone as good as attempting to see out the season with just Paddy could prove disastrous. Cue someone telling me we have Roberts as a replacement. Thats like having Izzy Brown last season
Yes it's the only worry I have, maybe if Eddie gets injured for all of Jan and no one then wants him.
As a Leeds lad now living in East Yorks this was a game we needed to win with so many codheads in this vincinity waiting to take the p*ss, no doubt they'll be bemoaning their bad luck As one of the blokes said on the coach home "I can go to work a happy man tomorrow with no silly b*st*rd crowing in my face" Positives A victory is always sweet over the codheads Three points Top of the league again 11 points clear of 3rd place Fulham Seven consecutive victories Unbeaten in ten matches Fourth consecutive clean sheet matches 12th Championship clean sheet in 21 games Kiko's saves Berardi's display Bowen didn't get a kick thanks to Dallas in the main Klich's driving run & cross for our 2nd goal The ground covered by Bamford & Alioski from defence to attack to make it 2-0 Alioski's strike from a tight angle Our pressing & fitness levels Negatives I counted at least 7 times we got round the back of the Hull full-backs not finding a Leeds man with our abysmal crossing/passing in the first half More atrocious passing in the second-half which actually constructed Hull's attacking moves allowing the codheads back into the game Bamford's header miss Bamford's hitting a post from ten yards after a great run into the box Hull feigning injury & wasting time Referee not playing the advantage rule when we were in a great position Ratings 9 Casilla 8 Ayling 7 White 9 Berardi 7 Dallas 7 Phillips 5 Costa 7.5 Klich 7 Hernandez 5 Harrison 7 Bamford Subs 8 Alioski n/a Struijk n/a Douglas
Tbh, i don't think it was a game for Eddie to come on, the problems were Harrison and Costa's abysmal passing, crossing of the ball, numerous times we had men in the box but the final ball qas woeful, no surprise to me to see Alioski coming on for Harrison.
Both were poor when you consider how much they are costing us, wingers are notoriously up & down. Alioski coming on with his boundless energy was a great substitution from Marcelo
I think the differences this year is that there always seems to be a pass available, no matter where on the pitch, they're creating space with these little triangles to work the ball out of trouble. I also think the passing outside of the final third is very good. I think we gave it away a lot last year, dropping us in the crap. I don't think they mess about passing it across the back line as much as they did last year. I also don't see them expending as much energy as last year. I'm not sure what has changed as we still win the ball back very well. I may be seeing things. I think opponents are trying to match our work rate and are suffering later in games.
Agreed, some of the passing in the first half was so slick and fast, numerous times I thought we were going to lose the ball but it was passed neatly into space and each player knew exactly where to be which then baffles me even more, in the final third why can’t we pass it just once to the right player?
Team without Phillips beat a hard and fast firing udders team that, for most of game put us under a lot of pressure........I think that result speaks for itself. I don't wish a ban on any of our players, but suspensions, however long can paint a different picture for all, with eyes wide open to see. You have your opinion on Berardi, I have mine on Phillips...........is there 1 rule for you and others, and one rule for me?
Sorry Don, what you said doesn't make a lot of sense, respectfully. Udders game showed we didn't miss him.
