We've less teeth than a newborn and to expect a kid to come on and produce with little time left is bordering on stupid and I'm sorry Tyler you ain't up to the job you've had enough goes and produced...zilch, I have over the years had this gut feeling that it was going to go tits up on my journeys and today was no different, typical Leeds 2 steps forward 1 back....come on lads break the mould for **** sake
Reason Klich isn’t making the headlines is he ls a Championship player, the PL is a step too high for him. If Bielsa cannot see that and ask for quality to be added then i give up.
Totally agreed he is not kept match sharp and fit. Yet Bielsa demands this of his players. Today i would have brought him on and put raph at 10 and james right wing. Rodrigo and roberts were so ineffective. Dallas in midfield at the start and hjelde at left back.
Woke up this morning thoroughly pissed off still over this result…. I was thinking about the 11 starters compared to last seasons starting 11… When you break it down we were missing three from last season Cooper, Phillips and Bamford. Struijk replaced Cooper and he is better in that position so we’re down Bamford and Phillips… If someone had told me last season you’ll have a new player lining up this time next year worth £28m and you’ll be facing a Newcastle team that had only won one game I’d have imagined us having a walk in the park. In our days of Championship football who’d have believed we’d be spending over £85m on four attacking players who’d fail so miserably between them.
according to jamster I got out of bed the wrong side yesterday, well I definitely did this morning… but we’re not the only side with an expensive attacking line up that regularly malfunctions. It’s quite common. The opposition are rather annoyingly trying to win games too. First half we got into good positions and our expensive attacking talent fluffed it’s lines. Second half our expensive attacking talent wasn’t able to get into position to fluff its lines. This is life as a lower half premier team missing key players. Good days bad days.
There's alot said about our defending but the real problem, and has been all season is the transition through midfield to the front 4. Once we cycle the ball through our defensive midfielder (Phillips, Koch, Forshaw) it just breaks down far more than it ever has under Bielsa. The odd occasion we do manage to get the wingers, striker and 10 in to the game they just haven't performed. Rodrigo 29 million. James 25 million. Harrison 12 million. Raphinha 19 million. Roberts 2.5 million. Bamford 7 million. Gelhardt 1 million. Greenwood 3 million. Summerville 1 million. Klich 1 million. Approx 100 million of talent there. Sorry if I missed someone its early but how many of those would you say have had a good season and overachieved? I'd say Gelhardt has introduced himself ready for next season. Raphinha has been decent but I don't think he is as good as he was last season. Bamford hasn't played. The rest as far as I'm concerned have to step up and prove they have what it takes on a regular basis or they can go. They have been massively under par when you look at past performances.
Looking on the bright side after the thrashings by Man City and Arsenal I think most of us would’ve settled for 6 points from the next 3 games and that’s what we ended up with. Would have been better to lose to West Ham and beat Newcastle but it is what it is. Can’t pick and choose where the points come from.
Klich has not been the same player since returning from burnout. What we all need to understand is that the body can only endure so much punishment until it breaks down, otherwise every club in the World would adapt the same punishing regimes. We were at our peak in the second part of last season, and by the time pre-season had started (at Ewood Park) their bodies hadn't recovered. It was plain to see the other teams looked fresher than us, they had more energy; they were getting to the second balls. The short bursts of speed and acceleration (something we were famed for during Bielsa's reign) suddenly disappeared. It does not help that Radrizzani didn't invest properly in the Summer. Whilst it was plain to see that we were light in midfield, we also only had one goalscoring forward, and one (Gelhardt) who was set to be introduced gradually and was expected to only play a bit part this season. Had we had a few more recruits, we could have built of on our success of last season
I wouldn't say we actually have many team players. So many of our squad play as individuals. We played as a unit against West Ham, and although we didn't look strong on paper, we had a balanced team
