You really don't have to, we'll be fine without you, honest.

He knew he was here to stay, it was a permanent deal. We just asked for the loan year first to get around FFP because we would’ve breached it by spending £15m on him this season.

There have been, in my opinion, quite a number of gifted players but right now he is probably part of the best team we have had in quite some time.

He was a right winger at Wolves.

There is a lesson to be observed. Don't spend around 100 million to come straight back to the Championship, a la Fulham and probably Villa.

He scored a goal and won a penalty whilst in the inside left channel but his position last night was right wing. Superb movement and interchanging of positions whilst still doing everything expected of him on the right side...including an assist for Pablo.

What was noticeable was the commitment last night, no slackers in a white shirt.
I thought Ayling was back to somewhere near his best, Bamford never stopped and was unlucky not to get a hat trick, Costa is getting better and Pablo, well Pablo was Pablo and there is no other.
    A fine team performance.

I was responding to Infidel who was talking about technically gifted players who play or have played for Leeds. Someone suggested Costa, he proposed Tony Currie. I suggested Johnny Giles, although not being a Leeds supporters, you will suggest many more. I have no idea of your vintage, save to say you were around in 1992, had a love for Cantona that turned to loathing, maybe, when he went elsewhere. If your memories go further back, Giles wasn't a bad player.

I'm a little young for the Revie era but Pablo and Strachan both look very intelligent footballers. Hopefully both can be the catalyst for bigger things for the club.

Giles indeed was an excellent footballer, his brain was exceptional, players like him have something that can't be taught. He is up there for me as one of the all time greats.

Yes Giles was exceptional footballer, he also knew how to put the opposition on the treatment table.

I have been saying it for months about changing wings and positions, something him or Harrison did not do up the the halt in play, maybe the penny has dropped with Amigo Bielsa as well.

This FB post seems outlandish, but I believe it ...

"Stat of the day to show our complete dominance in our game yesterday, as testimony to Marcelo Bielsa's genius.
Gaetano Berardi came on as an 84th minute sub and only TWO Stoke City players got more touches than him during the ENTIRE game...

(Stat courtesy of LUFC Lewis YouTube)"

According to whoscored.com for that game, Berardi had 19 touches , 10 of the Stoke players had more than that, although the majority of those played 90 minutes. James Chester who came on at half time for Stoke had 19 touches and Nathan Collins who he replaced only had 12.

So the guy on Youtube has probably just got a bit creative with his enthusiasm over the result, but on the basis that James McLean had the most touches for Stoke with 47, the Berardi stat does show how much we dominated the game, when he managed to achieve 40% of the number of touches that McLean had, despite playing 83 minutes less.

So yes I think your initial thoughts of that stat is outlandish was correct WJ, but still takes nothing away from the control we had in that game.

Just as a comparative 7 of our players had more touches than McLean, Cooper with the most at 114, and White with 100, just ahead of Ayling on 98 and Phillips on 97.

Meslier had 5 more touches than Butland, probably because Butland failed to prevent the ball entering the net 5 times ;)

Pablo had 51 touches, one less than Klich and more than twice as many as Roberts.
