Although the fixture looks easy on paper, let's remember they beat fellow Promotion hopefuls Sheffield Wednesday midweek, which will give the Latics a renewed confidence ahead of Saturdays clash. Following their second half heroics, Bielsa is likely to keep faith with the same XI that came from behind to beat Millwall midweek, but with Kelvin Phillips sidelined due to suspension, will the Argentine keep tinkering with the gap in defensive midfield or bring new signing Ian Poveda who can play a natural number 10 role? We can expect to see a cameo role from marquee signing Jean-Kevin Augustin, though the 22yo hitman is likely to be eased in gradually by Bielsa. When the time is right will Bielsa play Bamford and Augustin together or keep with his favoured 4-1-4-1 formation that has been used on 21 occasions so far this term giving the team 9 wins, 6 draws and 6 defeats. Leeds 4 Wigan 3. Bamford hat trick and Harrison scores the winner in the 98th minute. Forum goes in to meltdown at half time at 0-3 down. Bamford celebrates each goal by sssshhhhing the Leeds fans and making ****er gestures to the camera.
An a slightly serious note. I wasn't impressed by Bamfords antics. Granted he's been in for criticism for the lack of goals. But he should remember he's paid a good wage and he was signed to score goals, which he hasn't done regularly. In any other walk of life if you weren't hitting targets you may well be sacked. Yes he works well for the team, but his misses have cost us points. Those supporters who pay their money are entitled to have a say. So he should IMO suck it up and enjoy the moment and celebrate accordingly.
Not sure he’s having a go at fans myself, my first thought was he was just messing about how loud it was.
We’ve been Did you see the video of the team arriving at the ground beforehand? Basically hundreds of fans lined up to applaud the players in and give them high fives. 90% of the players res[onded, Bamford basically snubbed them
We have a stinker of a month coming up so Wigan is a must win for me, it will give us back to back wins and you'd have to assume at least one of the chasing pack will slip up this weekend. A clean sheet would be a bonus and a nice cushion with 20 minutes to go so Poveda can possibly get a chance.
Tony Harrington will be the referee for Leeds United’s clash against Wigan on Saturday, with Timothy Wood, Matthew McGrath and Tom Nield making up the rest of the officiating team. This was later relayed to these fans via Jo Bedford who usually updates fans on these appointments on Twitter. In the 10 Peacocks matches Harrington has refereed, Marcelo Bielsa’s side has only won 30% of them which could be why some of these fans are nervous about Saturday. He was the ref in charge of our 3-3 with Cardiff he was the 4th official the other night against Millwall
You certainly see things in a different way Chesh.......the only messing about that he does is to pretend he gets hit.
Hope that plays. Not a big deal but you’d expect players to acknowledge who’ve stood in the cold to greet them
Is that the father of the twat who played for us? You realize: 1) that’s a name that should not be mentioned in polite conversation, 2) that player does not deserve the title of Mr which indicates a certain level of respect!
For what it’s worth I think Bielsa will play Poveda and JKA at the first viable opportunity I can see them both getting game time on Saturday and this could be early on (but what do I know) I also think that players need to watch their attitude otherwise they could be on a short shelf life now we have what appears to be some real talent
