Howe tends to play with a back 4.
To me this means Ritchie is obsolete in this position.
    Dummett maybe permanently out injured.

Do you think Lewis will start?
Do you think the coaching staff can undo Steve Bruce and the Norwich coaching on him?

Personally believe he has the attacking attributes to be a good enough left back but needs coaching on his positioning. With this in mind and assuming he starts then who do we believe should play in front of him? ASM's best position is there but he's a Ginola not a Solano/Jonas. Can we afford a Ginolaesque player at the moment?

The left back position is one of the key decisions for EH to make. Will an attacking player be used against a team we're expected to beat? So will Ritchie keep his place?

I'd be surprised if he makes too many drastic changes

I’d be surprised if he didn’t but only because we need a win and what was happening wasn’t working at all.

Back on point I think Lewis will get a chance and he might take it but it’s a risk with ASM playing in front.

I didn’t know Dummet is injured for a long time what is wrong with him.

I think we will almost certainly go either 4231 or 433 and I’d be amazed if Lewis doesn’t start at left back.

He’s not good enough, but the best we have right now. For me this is a priority Jan signing (Shaw from Man U would be my choice here, on loan) because the best role for Max is LW and he needs someone solid and capable behind him.

I think I agree and I hope we see schar come into the back 4.

I'm not keen on shaw but wouldn't say no

Not really just a formation change and 2 or 3 changes in personnel.

Dubs Schar Fernández for starters before he needs to even think about the midfield mess

Why not just play Almiron/Joelinton on the left then (who both do more dirty work) in front of Lewis and then ASM on the right in front of Manquillo?

None of us will know what's going on in training, so I guess we'll get something we all never quite fancy.

Not really only 3 changes in personnel.

Let's be honest we all now lacelles abs Hayden are the 1st two names on the team sheet, so it won't happen anyway.

    You'd pick Clark over Fernández?

Yes because he's left footed and I personally rate him.

He's got a goal in him too..... People were quick to knock him for the pen, but it was him that beat two defenders at the other end to set Hayden up.

It's just my opinion... I don't like feddy and schar together.

Anyone looks worse next to lacelles who keeps getting dragged out of position and leaving holes

    I think he'll go 4-4-2

I reckon Darlow will be in goal due to Dubs being away
    Lewis at LWB
Schar and Lascelles at the back as can't see him being ****y to Lascelles on match day 1
    Manq at RWB
A midfield 4 of ASM on the left, willock and Longstaff in the centre and Ritchie back on the right
    Joelinton and Wilson up top.

Don't agree with it but can't see too many changes just yet.

The selection etc is one thing but if the ambition is to press higher up and get the back 4 to get off the edge of their own 18 yard box it'll be the biggest change.

Fistbumps won't like doing that because he gets exposed

I don't think Lascelles needs to get further up. he can stay back as cover. He's **** at passing and is ****ing knackered if he has to run more than 18 yards anyway. Lewis is more attack minded than defence minded, Howe will need to drill him and ASM into being able to cover one another's arses.

Ritchie on the right to whip in crosses from deep, Manq covering the running on the right.

My major concern is Longstaff. He's coasting games TRYING to look like he's busy without doing anything. He's like a butterfly trying to land on a flower when iy comes to pressing. he starts to go for one then changes his mind before they've even released the ball.
