If you look at the matchday thread on the Prem board, you'll see my 'in game' comments ... thought your guys were really good in the circumstances and for the first 25 minutes you really bossed it ... took a great finish from Maddison to turn the tide but we should have put it to bed earlier than we did ... in the end we probably deserved the win ... but you can definitely give anybody a game ... we strengthened markedly over the summer in terms of squad depth and that's all you now need to do going forward
Leicester were always likely to win, we were missing 9 players! Leicester were full strength. But tbh, they got lucky .. the Ref was a homer, and we were the better team throughout!
Luckily we've got loads of cash lying about... As I said to you elsewhere mate, I think the difference in quality up top told in the end. We definitely more than matched you for large parts but having so many attacking players missing made a huge difference. Especially when it came to making subs.
We lost. We deserved better. That's a bit ****e, but not life changing ****e. March on and all that. I'm with the 'Let's go for the Cup' brigade personally.
Looking forward to when we can field our strongest side! Mind you, good to blood some of the youngsters, and find out who can do a job. Sad for Smallbone. Must be hard. No pun intended!
I get that but we had Ings, Vestergaard, Romeu, Redmond, Djenepo all out. 3 key players plus 2 good squad players. I've probably forgotten someone as well.
I think, as many probably do, full squad and that was a game we could of won. I’m still very impressed with what we can muster up considering. Credit to the club.
Exactly this. He took on Romeu's role as a deep midfielder so will obviously link more with the defence. It was Diallo's who took JWPs place and his role to get the ball forward. As a result JWP had a much subdued influence on the game and Leicester made sure they didn't give any free kicks away in the JWP red zone!
It's not just this game, really. JWP has developed very well in many respects, but the one thing that would take him to the next level is the hardest thing to teach: that aggression with the ball. He'll make decisive passes at times, but his first instinct is generally to stand on the ball.
