Liverpool are the first ever side to win all 6 away games in the cl. Apparently... another record that's been snuck in
Yes. I think the previous highest was the 1988 team but obviously didn't have European games so the total came purely from domestic games whereas this team's played twelve European ties, 42 league games back then too though
These are some extraordinary numbers from Klopp: please log in to view this image please log in to view this image please log in to view this image
The Salah conundrum ... here are his numbers across all comps before and after AFCON... The interesting thins is that he's pretty much exactly the same bar on thing ... his finishing. Finishing is a fickle fairy ... please log in to view this image
Whereas Mane is the opposite - we just need Mo to find his shooting boots once more. and im sure it will come. please log in to view this image
Could be coincidence but Mane has improved since winning the Afcon, plus Senegal winning WC play off, plus Diaz coming in and giving him competition. Where as Salah has dropped since losing both of those games, and still has no real competition. As I say, may just be coincidence but wouldn’t surprise me if those games have had an effect and boosted Mane’s confidence and fight.
Yup. Plus the fact he’s played a **** tonne of football, every minute of Egypt afcon with 3 of them going ET I believe? Think guys just knackered and maybe trying too hard as things just aren’t quite going for him
True...but if Sadios wishes are more clear and understood by both club and player his head will be more settled than Mo's
LIVERPOOL'S Jurgen Klopp is only the second manager the Euro/Champions Leauge, FA cup , League cup and the English top -flight title all with the same club, along with Sir Alex Ferguson (with Mancheseter United)
we are nearly finished this season bottom half games (just southampton left) Games played 19 Goals scored 52 Goal conceded 7 Games won 18 Games drawn 1 Games lost 0 Win ratio 95% Draw ratio 5% Loss ratio 0% Goals per game 2.74 Goals conceded per game 0.37 Thats unreal TBH. That's basically nearly perfect bar one fluke punt over at the back stick by brentford. Top half Games played 17 (just wolves to go) Goals scored 35 Goal conceded 16 Games won 8 Games drawn 7 Games lost 2 Win ratio 47% Draw ratio 41% Loss ratio 12% Goals per game 2.06 Goals conceded per game 0.9 does take much of a genius to work out that ist against top half were things are not as strong every time.
super league table Pos Team PL W D L F A Pts 1 City 10 6 2 2 21 10 20 2 Liverpool 10 4 6 0 19 10 18 3 Chelsea 10 4 4 2 15 10 16 4 Utd 10 3 2 6 14 25 11 5 Spurs 10 3 2 5 15 16 10 6 Arsenal 10 3 1 6 13 25 10 the final super league table. LFC losing the league by 1 point. at time of writing but lost the super league table by 2. Its draws with spurs, cheslea and city. as we hockeyed Arsenal and utd. We can look all the way back to 10 men chelsea at anfield or look to spurs where we were playing a backs to the wall spurs who didn't want to play and we had no ideas. take your pick really.
So teams in the top half are more difficult to play against than teams in the bottom half and based on the evil Super 6 table we're about as comparatively good there as we are in the league?
Finally block 5 is December. from then on you can see a trend of less than a goal a game conceded developing into a half a goal per game by the end. Look at the goals for and you see a free flowing high scoring side go fomr 12 per block of 4 to 10 and we've fall off that to a more sedate level of scoring as salah falls away. We were behind after block 2 and 3. that was brentford and city draws and then Brighton and west ham loses. to recover form that period to take this to the final week was a big big effort. Again block 5. Spurs draw and Leicester loss.
exactly. not rocket science is it? the only real thing to take from it is the margins by which we destroyed the bottom half. the top half there's too many goals going in = team able to beat the first press. The way I view this debate is the high line stuff is a easy target. We have phases and transitions in play. high line really actually means team is pressing high in the opponents third and opponent can get the ball away too easy. this exposes the run in behind as a player can pick his ball. (salah, mane, diaz press plus say keita is vital) Low block we do actually play this. We don't concede too many goals in general play when the opponent has the ball in the middle third and is trying to attack us. we sit in in the lines and hold a decent shape, although we tactically refuse to come out and block crosses. Transition: We win it deep in our own half or are after getting a set piece away. I think this is actually our worst part of play. We don't clear very well but are tactically set up to charge. its the charge of the light brigade at times frankly and we gamble quite a bit. think of the chelsea goal at stamford bridge where Henderson basically plays a really sloppy ball out towards trent who nods it on. everyone is charging out and tbh there's no actual challenge on the ball that drops to Rudiger from Trent. its literally one pass and they are in. the better the side we play the better they break the press. Its really that simple. Not only can they finish a bit better but its not a hoof from their defenders up at our cbs and a fight for the ball. They get in a good position with a good player who can play their men in.
Annoying thing is. Turn that Brentford game into a win. And we’re 2 behind with a game in hand and title in our own hands. Small margins
