I was talking to a mate about this and we both agreed that we can both see ourselves doing more of the new things we've started doing and less of the usual stuff that we did pre-covid. He hasn't renewed his season ticket for Sunderland. He says he has got used to not going to football now and is enjoying spending his time wife his family instead and doing activities with his kids. He actually feels guilty that he hasn't been there most Saturdays with them. I spent a lot more time in the garden and found a new hobby in making things with wood so I intend to continue carrying on with that. I also started learning to cook properly so I don't have to live on sandwiches anymore. It's canny, should have done it earlier. I used to eat takeaways at least half the week but that's out the window as I'm eating mainly good food now and definitely more health conscious than I've ever been. Anybody else have a slightly or altogether different focus/lifestyle?
Spending more time looking after myself. Lockdown/home working showed that lots of hours and taking loads on isn’t the way to go. This means I am home now at a reasonable time to spend time with daughter and help out with the new baby. weekends are fluid, but about half a day for me, golf/cycling or something and the rest with family. Not spunking cash on meals out/takeaways has shown the Mrs how quickly we can be mortgage free. made me also think about my time at football.....
Me im just doing what I always did.......smashing through weed like its going out of fashion. I'm hoping some tidy films can be made now.......fking **** 18months of entertainment. Football is dead for me but going to watch cardiff Southampton tomorrow for the friendly before I'm barred from entry
you won’t be interested in the RS game at the Covid ground then. Thanks for letting me know early doors.
Weirdly with 20,000 crowds being the capacity for vaccine passports......I be able to watch Swansea but not my Cardiff city.
Tbh I don't think a lot will change for me. I'm not one for the shops, crowded pubs etc. I work for myself, so I don't have to go into an office. My leisure time is spent either in the sea or up on the moors, so that won't change. I'm looking forward to the events business getting back up on it's feet as that's where a lot of my business comes from and it would be good to start earning some decent coin again. I guess one of the things to come out of covid was a reminder to live your best life and don't take anything for granted, as you never know what's around the corner
During the first lockdown I lost the taste for beer. I just can't be arsed with it. I also started going for good long walks. As a result, I've lost 2 and a half stone. So I guess the lockdown has been good for me.
Life after covid will continue as the changes it brought about... Stopped smoking and will continue with that. Drank less beer, will continue to do so....but might waiver from time to time lol Shop online for everything now. Prescriptions automatically sent to the Chemist now. Can speak to my doctor and consultant on the phone. Use the car less, I hate driving. Enjoy going out and avoiding crowded places. Start using cash again when I am out. Doing things at my own pace.
