Match Day Thread Lincoln at Home (Today guys!)

Come on chaps, we can still mathematically make the play offs, so I'll start the Matchday Thread if that's ok.

Bearing in mind the respective goal differences we need to win tonight and on Sunday and still need both Oxford and Pompey to drop points on Sunday.

A tall order and out of our hands now so we may as well go for it against Lincoln, who are already in the playoffs but can't get automatic.

Aneke has got to start tonight so we can see how long he can actually play for and whether he is as effective against fresh defenders rather than playing for 20 minutes against players who are already knackered.

We need to use these games to finalise who we want to keep for next season but keep up the pressure in case the other two slip up on Sunday.

Schwartz to get at least 45 minutes (should be easy when Aneke has to come off)

I don't want to hear about us being on the back foot. Had enough of that against Crewe

May give this one a miss, been unwell with quinsy, and watching the Accies game didn't do it any good.

 

I'll follow this on the updates, and will still happily dream of promotion if we can nick a win, and even better turn in a performance we can be happy about. I badly want to see Schwarz given a run out, and preferably starting ahead of Stockley- it would be great to set up for a striker who wants ball to feet, and see if he will be useful next season. It's hard to imagin as Nigel has kept him well apart from matchdays, but surely it's time to unleash the Dane again.

 

I presume we all want to see Aneke start?

Neither Bowyer or Adkins have played the Dane, I reckon there is more to it than meets the eye.

Disappointed with that line up. Aneke on the bench yet again. No Shinnie in the squad, no Schwartz in the squad. We need to know if they are good enough and if Aneke can last 90 minutes ffs

 

Yes but he clearly can’t last. If we can’t play our top scorer in a must win game from the start then we need someone better who can.

 

Can't see that team winning. Maatsen and Miller have not been playing well enough.

 

Regarding Aneke, something must be seriously wrong - I don't believe two separate managers would refuse to start him

Not sure I agree with that. Stockley looks isolated and we’re playing hoof ball again. That’s the problem with having Stockley up front.

 

JFC injured and off. No problem though, we can just bring on our other playmaker Shinnie.

What the hell has Schwarz done that he can't even make the bench in a must win game? I'm finding dome of Nige's decisions pretty odd to be honest.
