At this point I almost hope so. What is it with our recent managers, they just can't seem to make a balanced team out of the squad and end up playing at least two players out of position?
Shown up again in defence! And this is what happens when you keep changing the team constantly. No consistency anywhere on the park!
To be honest, just want a manager who plays round pegs in round holes. We don’t play that many games, keep the same team
Quick counterattack puts us out of our misery. Now that's how you break quickly and with urgency, it's not that difficult to do what Lincoln just did to be honest.
All over, sorry guys, I am gutted by our season and management. Where is the enthusiasm, the spirit, the energy? The commitment? God help all those Town blues fans who have travelled. Big questions now, is PL's position untenable after this dreadful run?
No win in 10, 3-5 to Lincoln, what an abysmal time, 10 years of mediocre, under-performing players, dreadful ownership just interested in his bank balance, poor management too. Where would PL go, who would take this club up? Who wants us!
Defensively inept. Every time they went forward, I thought they’d score. We looked so brittle all over the pitch. Donacien gets injured, so we throw on a half fit Sears (who offered nothing) and move Edwards right back. He plays behind Judge in right midfield - clearly didn’t work. Chambers looks past it. Two up front isn’t working because we aren’t imposing ourselves in midfield, and both Jackson and Norwood look like they’re struggling with top end League One football. We still have no discernible plan of attack or preferred formation and playing style. Absolutely awful.
We were abysmal today. More changes to the team and the system has contributed to another crappy performance. I'm pretty fed up with Lambert's constant tinkering now, we don't have a settled defence or style of play and it shows as every team we play against looks more organised and comfortable than we do. Lincoln were all over us today and made us look like chumps by passing through us at will and scoring goals with little resistance. We showed no urgency at any point in the match and dilly dally over throw-ins and free kicks, allowing the opposition time to get back in shape. There is no movement at throw-ins and Garbutt and Judge were hovering around every free kick and corner, regardless of what side of the field it was on, leaving massive gaps on the left side when we lose the ball. Downes and Dozzell did well enough in the middle but it was out wide that we suffered. Both full backs (before Donacien went off) were our best attackers. Our strikers are starved of good balls in to feet and that shows in the frustration that Norwood has shown in the last few games and started to show from Jackson today. It is obvious that both of them are getting pissed off with the lack of service. Norris - terrible decision making, he had a nightmare game. Doesn't help spring quick attacks when the opportunity is there. Garbutt - probably our best attacker yet again. Scored a wonderful free kick and should be played at left wing to be even more effective. It would also help out our defence to not have our LB taking corners and free kicks and being out of position when we lose the ball. Chambers - not his best game, got proper caught out for Lincoln's 5th goal. Woolfenden - pretty solid again. Tries to bring the ball out of defence when possible but let's the ball bounce too often for my liking. Donacien - was playing well until he rocked his ankle in a challenge and had to be subbed. Lincoln took full advantage of Edwards being at RB and a lot of the goals were set up on our left (where Eardley had plenty of space due to the absent Judge) and scored from our right, with Edwards rarely where he should've been in defence. Judge - spent all game wandering the pitch. Just don't play him wide, it is detrimental to our team and Lincoln ran riot down that side because of it. I would rather see Kenlock brought back in and Garbutt moved to LW. Dozzell - not a bad game today. He helped Downes out in the middle but he is guilty of ALWAYS trying to play the killer pass when sometimes there is an easier, more effective pass to make. Downes - the best of the midfielders out there. He got stuck in but can't do it all on his own. Edwards - ****, just ****. Can't cross, beat a man or tackle, I'm not sure how he can even be called a footballer. He had to be subbed because he was one more bad challenge away from a second booking. Norwood - can't do anything without the ball, clearly getting pissed off at our inability to find a decent final ball Jackson - is also starting to get pissed at the lack of service. He chases and harries and is getting nothing for his outstanding effort Sears - brought on out of position. The only positive to that was that he is getting league minutes. Shouldn't being playing on the wing though. Wilson - brought on because Edwards was close to being sent off. He didn't play badly but it was another switch around in the defence that contributed to the poor defensive performance. Keane - scored a goal, should probably be starting ahead of Norwood if we are going to continue just hoofing the ball. All in all I'm pissed off at Lambert. He was playing a more settled side earlier in the campaign, mostly due to injuries, but it did bring us our best run of results. His constant changing has meant that we don't have a settled defence and there are no solid partnerships being formed around the team. This shows in our disjointed performances, passes played to where you expect somebody to be but they're not and generally there doesn't seem to be any understanding on what we are supposed to be doing. I can't think of any other manager who swaps their goalkeeper and defence around as much as Paul. It's amateurish and makes people think you haven't got a clue. There really has been no need to postpone games and change as much as he has and it looks like it's coming back to haunt us. Instead of playing matches when we were flying we now have to squeeze them into the schedule and play them when the team is under much more pressure to get results, there's nothing positive about this scenario. Sort your team out or **** off Paul, so far you've just been another ITFC manager that can't put out a balanced team or drop the players that need to be.
