Wake Up MITO! "It was decent but not much more. It was after all west brom!!!!" Yeh! the same West Brom who continually cause us problems at Anfield.

Today we started to demonstrate that perhaps (and only just perhaps) these players are starting to see that they can play together.

    Ah come on.....

Decent is enough praise for lads each trying to do thier own jobs better. Some actual interchanges that were pleasing to see but it was 2-1 v west brom

West brom, not a top ten side. We KNOW that despite the excuses we expect to beat non top ten sides at home

The message to Rodgers must be we support you fully but stop the excuses and talking about pain and focus on improving. Today was decent, still a lot to be improved on just on that pitch alone. Pen was a joke, skerls yellow was stupid, the defence as a whe was only ok, lambert worked but is zero threat

An assist = some more of fee paid.

As players return we should be expecting more hard work from everyone. I mean that coutinho for me is still in my bad books big time and frankly if he goes away and turn in another Basel type performance again he'd be dropped by me permenantly

We had more workers on the pitch this week

We need to get a couple back and rest sterling seriously. He is off his game now, should've had 3 goals in last 2 games I hope we can do this shortly

I think there is quite a bit of pressure on Sterling and Coutinho now that Suarez has gone - maybe this has had an impact as well?

Personally, I think the attack will become a lot more fluid with Sturridge back in - he's the new leader of the attack, and we'll see Coutinho/Sterling back to their best.

We'd be having collective delusions of grandeur if we think for a moment that Rodgers is waiting for our "message" as to how he should conduct himself.
We're talking amongst ourselves- nothing more.

It's absurd to think he isn't focussing on improving. I doubt that what he says in public, to support his under-performing players, bears much relation to what he thinks and says to the players themselves.

West Brom were above us yesterday morning, we shouldn't be dismissive. We should show respect for all other teams we play, and there's nothing wrong with feeling positive about a victory, and a (marginally) improved performance, as long as we don't get too carried away.
If you're crap, the road to improvement might be slow, but it's still improvement-and you have to start somewhere. I thought we even looked like we'd remembered how to play football for 10-15 minutes in the second half.

I agree about Sterling- too many expectations on his young head.

What was most pleasing was that at 2-1 and the game approaching last 10-15 we didn't go into our shell and hang on for dear life - we were still threatening and passing nicely, no panic.

Very refreshing and hopefully we can build on that confidence in our own ability

Rodgers is speaking straight to fans with comments about pain and so forth. No more excuses just improve. At the very least yesterday 2/3 learning a might have been on show that wirked

Pushing Gerrard forward helped there he actually got close to balotelli and showed what was missing, have to give Rodgers credit for dooming it and Gerrard showing he could play in that gap in the lines

Perhaps, but I seriously doubt he's expecting replies, and certainly not advice.
I'm pretty sure he knows we need to improve, without us pointing it out to him. He can add up points with the best of us.

Got to say I didn't like some of what Rodgers said and how he said it yesterday. I still support him but it sounded like he is now thinking of this job as a stop on the larger managerial journey unlike last season when he seemed set on being at the club for a long spell and trying to emulate the great managers. I wonder if he's thinking to cut his losses and turning attention to other options if this season doesn't work out. We can't delude ourselves, this is the modern game, it's more ruthless and less loyal.

Let's be honest though. Where would Rodgers go that's a step up from us?

    Replace Wenger at Arsenal maybe?
Only other clubs would be abroad...

I was thinking abroad. Think it would suit him to do that given his background.

I think its excused and a natrual oh **** i've ****ed it up reaction. I've news for the lad. while most lfc supporters are behind the effort most fo us also know.... theres not a big club on the planet ready to come in for him. EVERYONE is looking at him and wondering.... was it just suarez?

This job is the peak of rodgers career... the only risk is chelsea sacking mourinho in 2 years time for whatever reason mourinho engineers <laugh> and RA thinking rodgers is THE pick...

    It'll be interesting..

The point should be where is the planning.... I look at our coaches and actually shake my head. where in the first team set up is the continuing eductation, the high calibre coaches that have continued to be sent out to uefa conferences and training. achterburg? marsh? pascoe?

theres not a LFC manager amongst them not even a professional manager! We'll see... maybe down further there are some more qualified.

I'd perfer us to be developing all of these people.
