Big breaking news from the #LFC camp in Austria... Virgil van Dijk is in contention to return to action in Thursday's friendly with Hertha BSC. And Joe Gomez is "very close" to a return, too, says Jürgen Klopp.

Will be interesting to see if he's considered to be Trent's back up and if it paves the way for Neco to leave the club ...

    Could happen.

With gomez and ox as utility fillers as well there is a case to look at neco and see if he's learned anything about defending over this preseason and maybe even looking up before crossing. Bit harsh bit he could go on loan to toughen him up or be sold if the right offer is there.

I like necos attitude and work ethic but in the end he has a value as club trained player that we need to think about before just selling.

The argument about being good enough is fine. Most have said it here but this new young lad cannot be club trained so we would be giving that up.

linders latest blog drops a one liner.

In the runs, they had to shut up the voice in the head saying ‘it’s impossible’. It shows again that the brain is the most important muscle in the body. The running is just an extra impulse for our never-give-up mentality, nothing more, nothing less. Milner going in front of everybody… unbelievable. This was a welcome for Ibou to the real LFC pre-season!

I think this tells us that what we can see is a big lad but not an "athlete" yet. he reminds me of lukaku who was let away with carry bulk for a long time til he got to italy. I think we will lean him up somewhat over the next 12 months and he will be an absolute monster of a CB.

I just think theres a bit of work to do there.

    Speaking of Konate.

He just let his man go on a free kick into the box and if hed have followed him the other fella wouldnt have scored.

Too busy pointing for offside <laugh>:bandit:

We always play better if we let the opposition take the lead. Lull them into a false sense of security, then swoop for the draw!
