So the internationals are over until November.

Next up is Brighton at Anfield.

3pm kick off on a Saturday.

    Team thoughts:

    a) LB - Robertson - fit or not? we don't know yet but tsimikas played saturday and will play tonight. so Robbo as the rested man??
    b) RB - well trent won't be tired will he.
    c) CBs - Matip will be well rested. VVd has played through but imo needs game as he looks shocking. Konate won't be ready and gomez is a borken man.
    d) no 6 - Fabinho will maybe play tonight. he played 30mins at weekend
    e) CMs - thiago should be after working in training for 2 weeks. Needs game time.. Henderson should have been doing the same. Prick :) eloiott for me isn't getting stuck in enough and is a luxury at the minute.
    f) Diaz - this is tricky. he will be playing in the early hours of the morning in mexico. this is a tough one to get back in time. he played an hour on the weekend
    g) CF: jota or firmino???? firmino didn't play at the weekend or brazil and brazil play tonight but in europe. jota played only a short time on weekend and will be on bench tonight. This could be either. Nunez isn't an option imo but uraguay are also playing today but in slovakia. so he would at least be back. He played 90 v iran (and lost btw)

I'd try to go strong and I am forming the option right now that nuez should be used as a LW sub as he's not showing me enough as a CF yet. His runs are stealing ground from diaz ffs.

My guess is that the front 3 willbe Jota Nunez Salah with Diaz on bench . Personally i would start Tsimikas over Robbo .

    Alisson played full 90 again.

Fabinho and firmino were unused subs.

Jota I think played 79mins so we need to watch this. He could have been red lined by portugal

If it was a great threat he'll probably say whatever you want him to.

Chris Sutton has gone for comfortable home win 3:1

    Liverpool v Brighton
Brighton had a good record here under Potter, with a draw and a win in their past two visits, but this is our first look at them under new boss Roberto De Zerbi.

He's got a reputation for being an attack-minded manager, but will he really try that at Anfield? That would be very brave, but I would love to see it.

Liverpool made an extremely flat start to the season so maybe the pause in the season following the death of Queen Elizabeth II and then the international break came at a good time for Reds boss Jurgen Klopp.

October is an extremely busy month for the Reds, with nine games in total, and playing so often might just help them to get their rhythm back.

I am backing them to start that process here, and get the month off to a winning start - although it won't be straightforward.

    Sutton's prediction: 3-1

Al's prediction: Liverpool have been very up and down so far, but we don't really know what to expect from Brighton under De Zerbi. It's going to be interesting to find out what they are like. 1-1

I'm not often optimistic these days, but I feel fairly confident we will win this one. <ok>

And if we don't, we won't lose by three or more goals.

It's still all about work and performance. We can't see half arsed effort now. It has to be 100% each game as we are struggling.

Work hard and results follow. Slow starts and conceding first goal is not acceptable at this point. They have their quota of ****.

All eyes will be on trent Saturday from the media and fans and rivals.

Imo vvd needs to step up massively and we need henderson back in here.

I can't write off Brighton after manager change, I just dont know what they are going to bring. If Potter was still in I would be thinking its going to be a really hard game to get a goal in.

We have to pressurise these guys so any little nerves or whatever show up.
