I assumed being on a Liverpool forum that people would realise that it was through injury rather than having to spell it out. The midfield at the moment is neither one thing or another. We managed quite happily for a few years with a workman like midfield that was full of energy. With the introduction of thiago and Jones I thought we may be looking to go more technical, having more control of the ball. Unfortunately we've ended up with much less energy and only slightly more control.
why do we not have a right back that can slot in if Trent gets injured instead of relying on a 35 yr old?
Pretty sure we all know it anyway, but Grealish isn't worth a third of what they paid for him. As he done anything good yet?
It was a much better second half with cracking goals from Mane and Salah, but overall the midfield and defence let us down big time. Annoyed we threw away the lead twice and Fab flunked that chance. Two points dropped IMO.
I know there are a few on here wanting the dissect every aspect of the game but... I really enjoyed watching that. Edge of the seat stuff throughout and generally a great game of football.
Mane seems to score goals when he has no chance to think and just goes on auto. Give him time and space and it becomes 50/50.
Struggled to stay in the game but then took the lead twice only to gift them two easy goals.Midfield was poor and if it wasn't for some unexplainable decision from ref my prediction for Milner to get two yellows and off would have been correct.
Not easy to get a back up RB that's willing to sit on the bench all season and then be capable of playing against Manchester City at short notice.
He didn't mess it up imo he's a tall guy and doesn't have a short trigger of a shot, it was simply great defending.
We are an attractive proposition so we could easily find someone - City have - it’s not easy finding someone who wants to receive a relative pittance to play back up. Money is the problem here. The lack of it to be precise.
