Have to say, the best thing about the match was Nunez's finish for his first. First time, left foot, just gently guided it into the corner. We've been used to Darwin trying to smack the leather off the ball when he uses his left peg, but that was just brilliant, controlled finishing. His overall performance was brilliant, definitely starting to see the best of him now. Will he outscore Salah this season?
both finishes are far more inkeeping with his finishes for benfica. He was said to be more of a pass to the corner than a hoofer so I'd agree we are just starting to see him settle. which is a con for this break. the pro is getting diaz back and getting to within a week of transfer window
Yeah, i've got a feeling he might too. Looks like he might go back central when Diaz returns, but i think he's played better on the left. Let's see what happens, but at least it looks like we'll have options after the WC. I think being able to change formations to suit each game will be a bonus to us, the oppo always thinking we'll play 4-3-3 has made their job easier and we can switch formation mid-game too.
I think he can adapt. In fact we thought the same of mane moving to lw no? "What's he going to do out there" but next thing he is everywhere but lw with the ball and without it disciplined as **** defending that channel I think diaz does a good job down the left but i'd like to see him come inside more as well. Maybe the two together could be even more lethal by switching positions.
Shout out to Bobby for that header btw. Feel like maybe keeper should be doing better but he’s running away from goal at the ball, and managed to flick it into the corner from 13/14 yards out. Wasn’t the best free kick but did really well to get enough on it
I think we're beginning to see us shift away from Mo and now use Darwin as the focal point. Mo has been amazing for us and has been the focal for many years but he's not getting any younger. Although he's not showing any signs of slowing down, I think the club do have one eye on the future and are looking to see how can we reduce the reliance on Mo.
Think Salah was originally LW too Diaz and Nunez are both just as good with both feet so both should be more adaptable
He was a chesles reject lw. That's why cheslea are idiots. The interchange is that creates space. Once both know where the other is headed
Nunez is still up top with Salah, but left of front 2. Wouldn't say he is competing with Diaz who has been wide of the front 3. Be interesting to see if we drop the front 2 to fit Diaz in. Personally I think he could do a job in attacking mid too
If you are up for a bit of 41212 how about Nunez Salah Diaz Bellingham Elliott Someone Robbo vvd konate trent Alisson
