If they are as professional as I think then they’ll have been scouting and tracking coaches not just players. If we pull trigger on LJ I wouldn’t be surprised to see us go after an assistant manager from the prem.
My main concern is he has said each time there'd be a reaction, okay we got one after the Portsmouth embarrassment but nothing post Charlton and nothing post Rotherham. Mental he went with the same back four tonight given the way we defended on Saturday. We looked class a few games ago and now its like someone has flicked a switch and all of that confidence is draining away. How long does he get before we're out of touch with the top two?
Yeah it’s not like they are tight games. We talk about the standard of refereeing week in and week out because we, as fans would prefer to blame the officials rather than the performances on the pitch. Starting to think you make your own luck in this godforsaken league and although the officials are indeed terrible, we are not doing enough ourselves to win games lately. Worrying performances in the last month or so and surely LJ is living on borrowed time right now.
And, as much as I may disagree with it in this moment, as a fan, this is exactly what is needed. Emotional ownership is a recipe for disaster. If they (the owners) rate themselves then they should believe in the model and their decisions and stick with it. That said, knowing when you've ****ed up is something that only comes with bitter experience. I hope they are right and Johnson is the man and this is just a MASSIVE blip. If its not though, the test is realising the mistake as quickly as possible, sticking to the model and upgrading ASAP. Who'd want to be an owner!
I get the clamour for change but if we sack him now we will not get promoted. The same problems will persist with a new coach. Everyone was creaming themselves a month ago with this new approach and at the first sign of trouble we are all wanting him as sacked. It's a young inexperienced team. Need to battle through this. I'm sick of sacking managers
It's a wierd thing with these streaks his teams have . No doubt he can get a team playing some good football. At these times, the buzzwords, cliches and banal overspeak will go over the players heads. They will filter out the bits they need. But when any team is struggling, at any level, what you want to hear are quick, simple and very direct instructions. Does Johnson have this ability? Or does he long wind it when the team are lost in a game? This might explain the horror runs his teams always seem to have. A lot of people made that journey tonight and they deserve better than another meek surrender.
I'm not one for changing managers or going back to old ones. But Roy Keane has unfinished business here. Come on down Maurice
Tonight was better?? It was definitely not better, just Sheffield Wednesday are worse than Rotherham by a big big margin
If he really believes that tonight can be described as "better" then he's just written his own resignation letter
