He more or less gave up as soon as he walked through the door mate. Rather than pull his sleeves up, try an be positive and strengthen with the money at his disposal. He whinged, was negative as fook, and blew the money on shìte.
To be fair to KLD, the academy has improved beyond all recognition since he became involved and we have academy graduates in the first eleven (Neil, Embleton) and knocking on the door (Younger, Wearne, Harris, Dyce, Richardson, Sohna). A Grade 1 Academy like ours should be producing talent capable of competing at this level, along with a few older heads to guide them. He has also brought in young promising players from Premier League clubs, such as Doyle, Huggins and Cirkin. The strategy isn't flawed imo, but the ability of the manager to progress us as a club has to be questioned.
Problem is mate, this isn't the first sign of trouble. Look at the run we had at the end of least season. Since then we have recruited well, but the team are continuing to make the same mistakes week after week and we aren't just getting beat, we're getting hammered. Confidence is bound to wane as a result and things need freshening up.
I don’t think anyone should be criticising KLD he’s the best thing to have happened to us since I started supporting the lads, I’m just wondering what his thoughts are at the moment, probably as confused as everyone on here.
In KLD we trust. Having said that, I trust him to make the bold decisions. This has to be one of them. I trust KLD to ensure LJ knows SAFC won’t stand for these results, whether that is sacking him now or letting him know he’s hanging by a thread.
I reckon he will be concerned at the slump and will have in his mind a point at which he has to pull the trigger. For now, he will back his man to turn it around
He will be watching the same football as what the fans are watching, I am sure he can make his own mind up himself.
I'd imagine his view will be (understandably) less passionate than ours - I wanted him sacked before the final whistle last night - so hopefully he will have clear in his mind what he wants and at what point he says enough.
Very diffucult to argue with this I cannot understand why he was not given the chop in the summer, it was glaringly obvious he was not good enough.
https://www.not606.com/threads/relieved-no-regrets.384703/#post-13927526 https://www.not606.com/threads/he’s-gone.384680/ Do I want him gone ? Well he's done well overall. But recent form is a worry. How the fook have we gone from being a top form club to one of the worst all of a sudden ??? He has to get a few wins in now. 3 losses on the trot is unacceptable. So he needs to put that right. If he's lost the players or the plot then it's probably inevitable. If it was someone like Roy Keane then I'd say "thanks Lee" . But it's all geared up for LJ and can see him staying, for now. We're still in contention and if he can stop this rot, I'm back on board more than ever. Carry on struggling and dropping up to Christmas doesn't bear thinking about. I hope he sorts it, I like the bloke and other than some top drawer manager that we're hardly going to get, I don't like changing managers on a panic whim, especially still being in the running.
Yes but two of those appointments were caretakers and another 5 were poor appointments and O'Neil was no good without his mate and moyse was and still is a c u next Tuesday
It was my concern when he first came after someone mentioned his "streaky" nickname. I was hoping he'd be better a league below and learned more. I still am hoping but only for so long. Still liked by a few BC fans. Fingers crossed.
Why only look at 25 games? Bit of an odd number. He's never managed a full season, surely that's the only metric to use.....
Stick with him and boost the squad in January with several reliable Stewart level signings and we'll be fine. I think the quality over quantity idea is a good one but we've had just enough injuries for it to be a problem. If anything happens to Stewart we're buggered and several players need resting. This slump we're in is painful and I've got a few issues with Johnson like the odd baffling sub or lack of but not enough for me to want him gone. I always like his team selections even if it does sometimes go tits up after kickoff.
