While he seems to be a shade above most players at that level from a technical standpoint (although there's some other standouts at that level, most obviously Riqui Puig at Barca B) he did need to work on his stamina as his first few games either saw him used as a sub for the last 15-20 minutes or, when he started, he only had enough to last to the 60th minute - and it has to be said that was the case for him last season, as he was capable of playing the full 90 in UEFA Youth League matches, but in the PL2 he only managed to play the full ninety once
Cameron Carter Vickers not only started a game (for once) but played the full 90 minutes in Swansea's 3-1 win over Blackburn Josh Onomah played the full 90 minutes in Wednesday's 3-0 loss to QPR Conor Ogilvie was an unused sub in Gillingham's 3-1 loss to Plymouth
Josh Onomah started in Wednesday's 3-1 loss to Birmingham, although the decision to sub him off in the 72nd minute for another defender when the score was 1-1 has been roundly criticised by Wednesday fans Cameron Carter-Vickers was a 78th minute substitute in Swansea's 2-0 win over Reading Conor Ogilvie was an unused sub in Gillingham's 4-0 win over Bradford, getting seven minutes less than Dean Parrett did Marcus Edwards played the full 90 minutes of Excelsior's 4-1 loss to De Graafschap Samuel Shashoua played the full 90 minutes of Baleares' 2-1 loss to Villarreal B, scoring the opening goal
Josh Onomah played 90 minutes in Wednesday's 4-0 loss to Norwich Cameron Carter-Vickers was an unused sub in Swansea's 2-1 loss to Rotherham Conor Ogilvie was a 45th minute sub for Gillingham in their 3-0 win over Fleetwood, getting an assist for the third goal Marcus Edwards played 69 minutes in Excelsior's 4-2 loss to Groningen Samuel Shashoua played 70 minutes in Baleares' 2-0 win over Espanyol B, getting an assist for the opening goal
What's with some clubs having shirts that say HashtagPLAYERNAME on them this season? I know Wednesday have them as well, and it's weird.
Connor Ogilvie played 88 minutes in Gillingham's 1-0 loss to Blackpool, presumably because they remembered his loan expires at the end of next month
Josh Onomah was an unused sub in the 0-0 Sheffield derby Cameron Carter-Vickers was an unused sub in Swansea's 1-0 win over Bolton Connor Ogilvie started but was subbed at half time in Gillingham's 0-0 draw with Hartlepool Marcus Edwards was an unused sub in Excelsior's 7-1 drubbing from Ajax Samuel Shashoua wasn't in the matchday squad for Baleares' 3-1 win over Ebro
So far their loans break down like this Onomah starts most matches, but gets benched for the bigger games (i.e. Villa, Middlesbrough, and derbies against Sheffield United and Leeds) Carter-Vickers' has only had two starts and a couple of sub appearances, which is a waste Ogilvie's barely played, which is weird as he was a regular for Gillingham last season Edwards has started every other game, but for the Ajax match Excelsior changed the formation to a bus-parking christmas tree...and still conceded seven Shashoua's a regular starter and has been getting rave reviews, so him not being in the squad on Sunday is odd (unless picked up a knock)
Connor Ogilvie was an unused sub in Gillingham's 1-0 loss to Watford Samuel Shashoua played 78 minutes in Baleares' utterly batshit 4-3 win over Teruel where they were 2-0 down in the 41st minute, drew level in the 44th, went 3-2 up in the 86th minute, conceded a 90th minute penalty to make it 3-3, then scored a 94th minute winner. I'd say that prepares him for our first team, wouldn't you?
More on the batshit Baleares/Teruel game: Teruel managed to incur twelve bookings during the game, including two players being sent off for second bookings - and one of the players to get booked twice was sat on the sub's bench the entire game!
Completely forgot... Conor Ogilvie was an unused substitute in Gillingham's 4-3 FA Cup win over Hartlepool
Josh Onomah was an unused sub in Wednesday's 2-1 loss to Derby Cameron carter-Vickers was an unused sub in Swansea's 4-1 loss to Norwich (so he may be getting a start next week then...) Connor Ogilvie was an unused sub in Gillingham's 3-1 loss to Luton, so his time's being used well Marcus Edwards was an unused sub in Excelsior's 2-1 win over Emmen - with Mounir El Hamoui being the preferred option off the bench... Samuel Shashoua was a 66th minute sub in Baleares' 2-0 loss to Cornella, nearly scoring an equaliser before Cornella made it 2-0
Josh Onomah was an unused sub in Wednesday's 1-0 win over Bolton Connor Ogilvie played 90 minutes in Gillingham's 2-1 win over Bristol Rovers
