Wanted to create this thread to keep track of all our loan stars. Please feel free to add your inputs and updates. Stipe Perica Moses Kalas Hazard Ryan Omeruo Romeu Traore Wallace Atsu Nando Piazon Gael Josh Blackman Nathaniel Bamford MvG
MvG & Nando both made their full debut for Milan @ Empoli. Within half an hour Milan are 2 goals down. 31st Minute van Ginkel is injured and subbed. wtf? Nando is back 43rd minute header to pull one back for Milan. Diego who? LOL!
Blackman and Omeruo on against Pool. Judging by the score they are holding out reasonably well against pool but I can't say I'm watching. And the score is 1-1 now. Shame about MVG hope it isnt anything too serious?
Bamford wins a penalty and scores the same in the last minute of ET IT at Anfield. 2-2 Cool as cucumber. Legend in the making.
Blackman was shaky, had a howler for the first Pool goal. Omeruo very impressive, he and Ayala marshalled Lambert and then Ballotelli very well.
Torres is psychologically linked to the colour red. The more red on his kit the better he plays. Atletico - fair bit of red on his kit- did well. Liverpool - all red kit- played his best years... but usually at home... his away form (not wearing red) wasn't as good as his home form. Chelsea - no red- worst performances. AC Milan - quite a bit of red on his kit- starts playing well again. If you want Torres to be back at his best when he returns you're going to need to get some extra red on your kit.
Also done well for Spain mostly, who mostly wear red. You could be onto something!! Anyway, it's a 2 year loan so we won't see him in blue again.
Bertrand has started the season superbly. Was worried initially but at this rate he'll be a bargain at 10m
Bertrand has done better than Shaw tbh. This loan deal makes sense to everyone. Same for Moses loan to Stoke. Loans should be done like this.
Ryan scored his first PL goal for Saints today against Harry's spineless boys. Atsu didn't have a lookin.
Stan, add Stipe Perica to the list, on loan at NAC Breda in Holland. Scored twice against Ajax last night in a 5-2 defeat. First goal was a flick on header from a free kick and the second he held off two defenders before firing in.
Mate added him. Good work from him. Nando is back to his useless self missing good opportunities for Milan. Nathaniel had a mare against WBA, could have got himself sent off within 2 mins of making his second half appearance for Burnely. Is this Loan system any good to our youth? Cannot fathom the logic.
I'm torn. It no doubt helped the likes of Sturridge, Courtois and Lukaku. But seems to have stagnated the potential of the likes of Katuta and Josh. Ultimately though, if these players can't make a mark at lower P.L teams or mid range foreign outfits, what chance have they got making it into our side??
The loan system is a consequence of FFP. We are signing young players on the cheap/next to nothing, loaning them out to increase value and then selling them on. Good way to make money and when we find a diamond we'll keep them. Out of our current crop, I hope to see; Ake, Chalobah, Baker, Boga and Bamford making the first team. Think I'm being a bit optimistic there though.
I think if any young guys would make it, the first 3 you mentioned have the best chance of any young player since JT.
Boga is the best prospect for me. Looks terrific going forward and can score a goal. Izzy Brown is also another to watch out for.
