No surprise when you are the bellends out in droves on the streets, thick a pig ****.
their bars and restaurants owners are crying about loss of earnings. We didn't hear much sympathy from them when most of the North have been in tier three for what appears to be ages.
suck It up you southern softies.

I reckon everywhere will be tier 3 after Christmas, best way to try and keep infections down until the vaccine gets through a good percentage of the population. Mind, it's a joke that the media etc are crying about it, it should have happened before lockdown. Places up here way below the national average, yet still tier 3.

As much as I'd like to move down a tier, I'm in the Manchester area, staying in tier 3 is probably the right thing until the new year. London should have been in tier 3 to start with.

Aye, it was creeping up in Kent before lockdown, lots of folk just chinned it off after first lockdown. Even up here, people have switched off since the breakthrough of the magic vaccine.

This was always going to happen and they know what's going to happen after the Christmas get together - as experienced in America after Thanksgiving

Can't see anything other than total lockdown in January after the Xmas break. Too many will treat the 5 days as a total time off from all restrictions, rather than a relaxation, and extend the period into xmas prep time and then onto news year weekend. Just hope I have to admit to being wrong.

Aye mate, back end of January and February will most likely see high national average death rates, nicely bumped up by Christmas corona.

Well they are testing a vast amount of people every day, over half a million, which is the most per capita of anywhere on the world.

So, they are going to find more people positive. I imagine, by now they are also going off the more reliable figure of hospital admissions. And it is the worst time of year for hospitals generally.

But anyway, it's clearly with us for a bit yet, and although it is not touched many people at all, some of us have seen that it is a nasty and unpredictable bastard. Lets just hope these vaccines help us to a more normal life, because there will come a limit to the amount of control people can accept.

inevitable London would go to tier 3. just giving enough time for all the ****ers to get their shopping in.

I've only been to the pub twice - for a bite to eat and a couple of beers, then a meal with my Sis, sat outside. I'll grab a pie n pint tomorrow lunchtime then batten down the hatches.

As long as they don't close the golf course....and sell takeaway beer , I can live with that til March/April.

Makes the Christmas break even more of a joke.

Holland and Germany announce harder lockdowns with less cases and deaths, our cases aren't decreasing fast enough and most experts are saying the Christmas break is a bad idea, but no let's carry on with it

They've even quoted the evidence of how bad America Thanksgiving was but still persist with it's best for the people. Wrong, just wrong.

Cases here in Wales already at double the level of our fire break lockdown yet still no action from Mark Drakeford and the Welsh Government and our ICU staff are begging for us to be put into lockdown.

Toughest month for the NHS: January
Let's agree a relaxation of the rules for 5 days at Christmas.
Meanwhile, in Germany, to go into a hard lockdown over the Christmas period as the number of deaths and infections from the coronavirus reaches record levels.

Non-essential shops will close across the country from Wednesday, as will schools, with children to be cared for at home wherever possible.

Chancellor Angela Merkel blamed Christmas shopping for a "considerable" rise in social contacts.

The latest figures showed 20,200 more infections and a further 321 deaths.

The new lockdown will run from 16th December to 10th January. Announcing the move after meeting leaders of the country's 16 states, Mrs Merkel said there was "an urgent need to take action".

A maximum of five people from no more than two households are allowed to gather in a home. But this will be relaxed from 24th to 26th December when one household will be able to invite a maximum of four close family members from other households.

Watching channel 5 news yesterday they interviewed three mothers at a school.
Talking about schools shutting early etc, all three were foreign.
The third an Asian woman was visibly upset and condemning the actions of others, she remarked shaking, "look around you, there's no surprise as nobody are wearing masks".

    She wasn't wearing one either :emoticon-0138-think <doh>
