Right subs at the right time. We just forgot to run and show any movement after Danny went off. Utterly bizarre, but over and above running on with a cheeky gram for the players, I'm not quite sure what he was meant to do there.

I said it after our first game, but I think Hasenhuttl's fitness regime has to be questioned.
You come flying out of the blocks and are much the better team, then run out of steam and throw points away.
Should've built up a bigger lead in both matches, then get pegged back and lose, while looking knackered.

Not sure if any of you heard Ings as he came off, but he said something that might be a little worrying.

I didn't watch the game, so can't comment too much ... but Diallo for Ings was a strange sub. Seen a far whack of criticism for that one.

It put a natural CM in their position, moved Armstrong forward, and Walcott up top. Right move for me.

 

I think last season the penalty would have been cancelled because of that yes. But they changed the rule in the summer so that the handball now has to be immediately before the goal is scored.

 

I think he has had enough of all his effort still not being enough. He needs a lot more support.

Yes we know all that. There is more to it than just the injuries, and it’s got worse. Like Laces said , it’s not the manager, there is a fitness issue.

Correct about that imo. Been saying it for ages.

 

Great first half. The players played in treacle second half after Ings went off. No movement. A week to prepare and we may have survived that as the team looked tired.
