Was his injury a blessing in disguise, I think so.

    His 35 still injured
He may find it difficult to get his place back
Although when fit and ready I think he will be part of the match day squad

Good to have him as part of the squad for sure, and definitely would bring him in before Ozturk. Baldwin and Flanagan are forming a decent pairing though, both are big tall lads who are decent in the air, exactly what’s needed for this league, nice for us to have a bit of a presence at set prices with them too.

I think it was always going to be Baldwin and Flanagan so I don't think his injury will have made any difference. I'd move Loovens and Ozturk on either in January or the end of the season, free signings don't always work out and we can do better.

Maybe Ozturk in January and keep Loovens.

I thought he was always intended to be back-up anyway.

He's got a 2 year contract according to Wiki so I don't necessarily see him moving on. I think he may see this as his last contract and want to see it out.

Cant seeing us moving on one of our 4 centre halves in January. An injury to either Flanagan or Baldwin at this stage and I would immediately have less confidence in the back 4. Clean sheets now are no coincidence. They come from having a settled back 4 (especially the centre halves). I can see us adding one more in January as extra cover if nothing else.

That's why I'd look to move on Ozturk and replace him with someone who can competently fill in for Baldwin and Flanagan, Ross clearly doesn't trust Ozturk because he'd rather switch formation and use players out of position than bring him on for a like for like sub.

I'm not sure how big the squad is but I wouldn't be surprised if they would be looking at one in one out given how tight the wage bill is.

What about bringing McNair back from Boro, straight swap for Catts. He can cover a number of roles as well as attacking mid field, just a thought.

The lad didn’t want to stay here so what’s the point in trying to bring him back?

I like Loovens and i think his experience is good for the squad so id be happy if he stays. Ideally id like to see Ozturk replaced and another decent CB in in his place but i dont really think anyone would want him.

On a side note it beggers belief a team the size of Burton released Flanagan last season because he was surplus to requirements?

That certainly is 'just' a thought :emoticon-0112-wonde

Fortunately for S.A.F.C., Stewy Donald has said, following discussions with Jack Ross, that Catts will not be leaving in January 'cos he's been ****ing brilliant this season (those weren't his exact words, mind), but it seems that Oviedo might :emoticon-0105-wink:

Aren't Stewy and Jack fecking stupid, eh :emoticon-0136-giggl
