He never walks away from a challenge means he’s never walking away from a pay cheque. Can’t blame him for that part. But the club is looking silly now. They should have acted before this run of 4 games. Everyone knows it and now it’s going to hurt us.
I think he enjoys his image.. He thinks he's tough and takes something from it.. When you've got nothing left and all hope is lost all you've got left is telling yourself you're tough and trying to draw strength from it.
It’s to late now isn’t it. He lost the dressing room when he dropped darlow and it got leaked. The players have 50% yesterday. That midfield was shocking. Well everything was.
I think if they should get rid of him and just roll with Jones... If he knows his right from his left and is in anyway energising then we'll improve overnight, but the next fixtures we've got are so hard. They took a decision 10 points clear after a good away win at Everton not to bring on the players we needed in January and they've got to see it trough now.
The Everton result was either a fluke or a reaction to Jones. But bar a little bit of huff and puff I don’t think the “Jones” impact has really done much. The players just seemed confused as to what the plan was yesterday. At no point did any of the players, Lascelles included, shout at each other. There was no reaction. I’ve never seen a game quite like that. The players bottled it from the first minute. They do not believe in what SB is doing and it’s for THAT reason alone that he should be sacked. Get rid now, give another manager the chance to assess the squad and plan for next season.
We had a good side out mate and Jones system has improved us, but the last few games I've been on record saying we've gone back to bruceball and we're seeing more of Bruce on touchline and less of Jones. There were moments last night where you could see Jones saying things and Bruce just ignoring him. I don't think there's this big rift, but it's like when you're playing doubles at pool isn't it? If the person you're playing with points at the shot they think you should play or vice versa you automatically choose another option.... It happens all the time...
The whole setup with Bruce and Jones is creating chaos and is IMHO contributing in a negative way now. The players need to be “playing for the manager” and his team. But there is a clear clash between the two. It just doesn’t work.
That would make it a 1/4 chance of us playing next season. No wonder there are so many bookies in Sunderland - they must make a ****ing fortune out of you lot. Unfortunately, we're nailed on to go down, so it probably is 50:50 for us having a derby next season.
No idea. Ask him. Fill in the chronicle survey that Roly posted and in the box that is sent to the club ask why he keeps picking players that can't be arsed
Which he'll definitely read and reply to, probably personally once he gets through all his letters/fan mail.
I think that would be the most worrying aspect. The players have spotted they have a scapegoat, a really good one, and they don't look to be focused on the task at hand. I'm not seeing any rallying of the troops or pride. I'm seeing a load of sub standard players now giving sub standard effort. Lets be honest the players could drag us out of this alone without Bruce. However you'd need leadership from players who care about the club. Someone like Shelvey is gonna take a load of **** in this circumstance. He was lazy before the relegation malaise set in. However you could pick out any number. We've bought badly on quality regularly. Which all goes back to the owner. As does the appointment of Bruce, as does playing negative defensive football which has added to the fans lack of appetite. It all links back to us being poorly run for 14 years. One man is responsible and fans shouldn't be so naive to pin it all on Bruce or the players. Ultimately at modern football clubs there are much bigger cogs in the system. Our main cog is a tight fisted ****er, only interested in promoting his main business/source of income.
