For those of you who watched this excellent series on Netflix, the young lad Brendan Dassey has just had his conviction overturned. Quite right too. https://www.buzzfeed.com/stephaniem...onviction?bftw&utm_term=.nvzmGQJVr#.voY78DdNX
Highly recommended. My sons were telling me for ages to watch it and I kept putting it off. So glad I did.
It blew me away completely on so may levels, but in particular when one of the detectives who worked on the case openly stated that it definitely wasn' t a fit up because it would take way too much work, and it would be much easier to just kill someone they wanted rid of!!!
I couldn't get into this series - watched the first few episodes then gave up. I much preferred the series "The Jinx" about property heir Robert Durst. Great finale!
Hi Kwame - you ok? It was a fascinating series from start to finish, and as you say that final episode was incredible. As for Making of a Murderer, rightly or wrongly, I started to feel that the guy Avery was probably guilty.... Just a gut feeling. That said " She Who Must Be Obeyed" thought he was set up & framed by the cops.....
I ended up in two minds about Avery which makes him not guilty I guess. Some dodgy aspects to the case - lack of DNA, things turning up on a search that weren't spotted before, and so on. Stinks really. But the way that his nephew was fitted up was unforgiveable, and weren't they the same officers who investigated Avery? Dodgy, dodgy case.
I agree that it was dodgy - but sensed Avery was involved. But as you say, in aCourt of Law, you need more than "gut feel" to convict
There's a second season coming out apparently. Few things that people have picked up on that no one in the trial aswell may lead to retrial (POTENTIAL SPOILERS) e.g the photo you see of the victim in the series, when zoomed in you can see she has a set of keys on her. Whereas the one found in the trailer was a lone key. So obviously the spare. Also one of the jury members is related to one of the officers that arrested him. No idea how that wasn't picked up.
