And this has what to do with United?

They've spent on players, redeveloping their training ground?

It takes money to build a dynasty, even more so these days. So it's not exactly surprising but they'll get more money each year with CL money and progressing further in that tournament and the fact they don't have to spend (if at all) much anymore. So that loss should be less and less with fewer expenditures and increased revenues.

Looks like they have dumped a lot of losses into the last pre FFP season. With their additional CL money, commercial income from the Etihad deal and trimming the wages by dumping players like Boateng, Given, Jo, Bellamy, SWP, De Jong, Tevez and now possibly Toure they should still be able to reel the losses back into come close enough to the FFP rules over the next three years. But I reckon it will mean no more major signings for the next few years - the squad they have now is pretty much the one they will have in 2014, unless they want to seriously test UEFA's resolve...

I am not surprised at this large figure considering the 500 million plus they have spent on players.

Will be interesting to see how they will be able to balance the books before the FFP rules kick in.

  8. This news serves only to confirm what we already know - £ity has used it's Arab playboy's limited billions in order to fund its way to glory.

    Shameful. Utterly shameful.

The way all the football fans from other clubs are coming on heresaying we will fall foul of ther new FFP rules. Well let us wait and see already this season the revenue is up by over 50%. During the next transfer window a few of the fring payers will be going as well. All this will go along way to cutting the losses that we have made for last season.

It would take John Maynard Keynes himself to drag man city out of this. Your wages alone are absolutely huge, while your income is tiny in reflection. I expect more and more dodgy deals to try and side step this ruling, it is then upto uefa to decide whether there is any worth in this ruling at all, as you say lets wait and see

No your wrong Comas/99 the losses are for the year ending June of this year. So the purchase of Aguero, and the other players will not show in the books until next year. The same also applies to the sale of any players that went after the end of June. I am expecting a few players to go when the window opens in January, with Carlos being the main 1 to go along with W. Bridge and maybe Nedum as well.

Does anyone seriously think that people with such wealth will not have thought of that, with the top accountants, lawyers and tax advisers working on a way to get around the new rules?

It won't be right, but it won't be WRONG, if you see what I mean.

Their wage bill is £172 million and revenue is around £130 million. But with an extra £25 odd million from their new sponsorship deal (it replaces their old kit deal so it won't be £35 million extra) and around £30-40 million from the CL they will cover their wages with revenue for this season. They will probably knock around £10 million alone off the wages when Tevez leaves and book a decent profit, and probably another £10 million if they get De Jong and Toure off the books. And given that there's some clause in the FFP regs that means wages for players who were signed before 1st Jan 2010 are excluded from the first few seasons I reckon they will scrape under the £40 million allowed losses for that period if they don't make any more major signings over the next three years.

So long as the money we are spending is staying in the game and not Twitcher's pocket it can only be good for the game! By the way how is the t**t who's wages we are paying doing for you? I consider calling our chairman a " Arab Playboy" a racist remark, you Jewish C**T.

Big shock, no profit on investment right away, shock horror, it seems some on here think they have it sussed while the Citeh owners don't know what they are doing.. even though they are top of the league in the CL have a decent team playing well scorng bags.. seems like it is going according to plan to me though I am no expert I think they just might have a game plan, but some of ye know better eh:)

I certainly won't congratulate ****ty if they win the league. They haven't earnt a penny of the money they're spending nor any subsequent success. Totally undeserved.
