Hopefully we'll get to see a Roy Keane rant as Ings runs United ragged. And Gary Neville rip into shambolic United defending.
This match will show us how much we have grown, since November, the real start of the season. No reason to fear them, despite their recent goals. Same again as the game against City and I will be loving it.
This will be an interesting game, plenty of football to be played by both sides, Both defenses have mistakes in them so I'm expecting goals. I reckon this will be a 3-2 kinda game.
Together with 3 game bans for Vardy, Aubameyang and Salah from the other weekend fixtures, that ought to clinch it!
Looks like we are going to have a real game on our hands. After some rest, I relish the challenge. The battle of midfield. Hopefully the refs have finished giving them the gifts now.
Refs never tire of handing United gifts, it’s in the referees rule book. Can’t wait to give them a penalty, they must get a bonus for awarding them. I think they have got 19 penalties this season
Just a thought, guys. We've got Brighton and Bournemouth close together. I know with Saints there is no such thing as a winnable game, but these would have to be seen as such. Might a player or two be rested for the OT trip? Now where did I put that full body armour?
A little sad about this game... just so happens that my wife was best friends with the COO at Old Trafford and we were going to the original date for full on Prawn Sarnies plus brigade!
I think you’ll be about right as their style wont suit us as much. They won’t fanny around as much as City and they have that one player who can pick off a pass to undo us. Still, hope for the best...
If we had any sort of depth available to us, I'd be making a host of changes. But if none of the injuries clear up, then we don't really have anywhere to turn. Look at last night - the double change of Long and PEH was realistically all we could do. Yes of course we could in theory play a youngster or two, but if they were to suffer a tanking at OT, that could do more harm than good.
Agreed, but when was the last time Saints ever got a tanking. (Answer: we are reminded every 20 minutes on live commentary)
Referee for the Man United game is Chris Kavanagh, he was born in Manchester! He did the 1 - 3 defeat against Cherry (SN) in September 2019. He gave us a penalty which JWP scored.
On the subject of penalties, was last night’s miss the second in a row, for JWP? Was his last one saved, but he was able to tap in the rebound?
