It seems you have to finish in the top 4 or your job is up for grabs. Arsenal, Chelsea, Everton, Leicester and maybe West Ham are all looking for a new boss. Spurs may lose Poch too. It gets more insane every few months! Can we keep Rafa with all these top jobs up for grabs?
Top jobs, or poisoned chalices? If I was Rafa in a position where your family is happy, you are revered across the region and have basically no chance of losing your job (relegation wouldn't see Benitez sacked) wtf would you look anywhere else for? It's not as if he's poorly paid either. Arsenal close to Arteta? Seems like an odd choice. Chelsea will end up with Allegri, and Conte may just go back to Juve again. Everton will just end up with Silva. Leicester will end up with another unknown foreign choice. West Ham may convince Eddie Howe to step up from Bournemouth, which leaves the Cherries looking for someone.
I think Pochettino will be staying I think Rafa will be staying I think Everton will employ Silva I think Arsenal will employ Arteta I could see Chelsea either sticking by Conte or going all out for Simeone
He wants a top 8 club so he had better go to Man City as they are the only team that would finish top 8 with him in charge.
Pellegrini talking to West Ham. He'd be a good option for them but he will find the PL a lot more tricky without Man C's finances.
Almost every national rag reporting that Wet Sham have approached Newcastle United in regards to the services of Rafa Benitez. It’s entirely in the hands of Mike Ashley and that can not be a good thing.
I think its entirely in the hands of Rafa Benitez if they have met his break clause - I'd imagine Ashley is duty bound to inform Rafa he has a choice. It will simply come down to what Rafa wants and whether he thinks Newcastle United can afford to compete. He may decide the grass is greener regardless. Its up to Rafa and I personally don't think he'd leave us for them. Unless they are offering him some silly budget of 120m or something.
The finance available to West Ham can't be any better than Newcastle United? The Hammers are renting their ground currently, aren't they? Moving to London wouldn't worry Benitez, England is a small country to commute around. Flights take very little time.
On closer inspection of transfer trends, you wouldn't have thought so. If you look over 3 years they've approx spent 152m and recouped 101m. A net spend of about 17m a season. We've spent approx 171m and recouped 99m. A net spend of 24m a season. Considering we've had a year in the Championship I think he be better supported financially here looking at the evidence. Unless they've had investment from somewhere or have been deliberately keeping money in reserve (which they won't have), they will struggle to blow us out of the water in a way which would tempt Rafa. I think West Ham sometimes give off the illusion of big spend with high profile signings like Carroll, Arnautovic and Ayew. However they are one offs each season and were about 18m. There is an illusion all the PL clubs have blown our 17.5m paid for Owen out of the water. The truth is somewhat different, only the really big clubs have done that. The majority have records around that mark give or take 2m. We just spent crazy money way before it was actually a thing.
