Yeah, after beating Chelsea and Liverpool and if we get a win against City, there could be a new wave of confidence and optimism going into next season. On the other hand, if we lose playing how we play, City are crowned champions and Jose comes out with more post-match excuses and criticisms, the pressure on him will be at a new high.
City favourites but a draw wouldn’t surprise me. JM would put out his most defensive formation and catch them on the break. And city unless they have the CL tie sewn up against the overhyped RS will hold something back. Pep will have regards to the fans wishes but he’ll be silly to put a CL trophy at risk if progression is still in the balance.
Yeah, that's what I mean. We win this game and piss on their (and the British media on the whole) chips then it sets down a market for next season, albeit a very small one. If City win the league in a derby game I think the explosion of gizz from all the drones watching will be difficult to recover from!
It will matter to City fans too I can assure you. Beating us to win the title will taste sweet after let’s face it a long procession for them.
That's a point. I hope City don't put out the reserves. It wouldn't matter much to them, but if we win it would dilute the victory or if we lose it would be more embarrassing.
That would be pathetic! Sit there and let City toss the ball around like a training match. I would hate to witness that yet again. Jose needs to le the players go all in for this one. I don't even care if we lose. The manner of the loose would be more important to me than the scoreline. The only way that I see us winning is to take the game to them and with the talents that we have, we should absolutely be able to get a result against them.
Yep. There is more to be gained for going for a win with a system that uses our strengths. A United loss with 11 men behind the ball playing the Everton and Newcastle (due respect to Big Sam and Rafa) way will just be confirming to all that JM lacks cojones and frightened of big teams. Having said that, I am not holding my breath. The best scenario would be if we went into a 2-0 lead and we successfully hold on to it.
They’ll be expecting Jose to be watching this and adapting accordingly so it will be pure genius when he double bluffs and puts ten men behind the ball.
Yes. To expect JM to put out an attacking team at the Etihad is like expecting the RS clown manager to sit quietly in the dugout during a match. Simply won’t happen.
