Forster Cedric, Hoedt, VVD, Bertrand Romeu, Lamina, Hojbjerg Boufal, Tadic Gabbiadini Harsh on Austin? Yeah. But we're going to have to hit them on the break, and I'm a long way from certain that he can handle the short turnaround anyway. Try to force takeaways in midfield, and get the ball to the quick people.
Pellegrino dropping Stevo at Citeh just ain't gonna happen, I get the feeling that he is his main man. I think that it's time for JWP to have a run in the team.
I just don't think either are the right players for this particular fixture, unless we're playing for a composed 2-0 loss.
I'm afraid that I don't believe that to be the case. Everton at home or current form could not be a different proposition to Man City away.
Yeah I get that you are offering your opinion on what the team should be, but I will be amazed if Pellegrino changes formation and personnel drastically for this one.
I'll be amazed, too. I'll be equally amazed if we are competitive in the process, heh. City's average possession is an astounding 66.1%; we're going to spend most of the match in our own end, and if we're to get anything it'll likely come on the counter.
We won't get the opportunity to play like we did today because Man City are actually a good side, as well as we played today Everton helped us out massively by being terrible
As much as I believe in that adage there is no way I'd be leaving Lemina out against City. I reckon he would be really up for his debut at the Etihad and I'm paying good money to see that. Hojberg earned another game and Stevo just doesnt add as much to the team from deep lying positions IMO. He has more influence up front and I reckon Hojb will have a bit more energy by weds than stevo. I can't believe I'm advocating for leaving out our joint top scorer Steven Davis. What a wierd season.
I'm just putting it out there early, if I see unecessary changes and crucially if I see Redmond back in on the left and Tadic out right against City I will likely write MP2 off for good.
I'm just putting it out there; the guy obviously can't win with you can he ffs? If we somehow pull off a result (which I really can't see, but you never know, it's football) will you give him any credit?
Personally i'm not bothered whether he rotates or not for this one. Just thinking of a couple of formations to counter attack with since that's more interesting than just saying more of the same. -------------Gabbi---------- Red---------------------Long ------Hoj----Rom- Lem----- Bert--hoedt- VVD--Cedric Idea with that is to have long and Redders drop back and help defend but break with paceup the wings. Keeps our front 4 of Austin Boufal tadic JWP fresh for Bournemouth who I think they are more suited to. ----Long-gabbi ---------Davis -----Hoj------Lem --------Romeu Bert-hoedt-VvD-Cedric Same thing for those who hate Redmond, worried about width with this one though.
He played 3 at the back in the closing moments of the Everton game ... a sign of things to come for this one?
Never say never, but I am glad the win on Sunday took the pressure off a bit. The Bournemouth game is the important one....anything against City is a bonus. It will be interesting to see what team is put out, but decisions may depend on recovery from the Everton match. Apart from Forster, the one certainty on the pitch is Davis...cannot see him being dropped.....always surprised when dropping our captain and most reliable player is discussed. It's like looking at a sailing yacht and thinking it would be better without that mast thing stuck in the middle.
Hope Cedric’s little “bite” from Gylfi and Virgil’s ankles are ok. Agree with most here - only change bring Gabby in for Charlie (he definitely should start vs Bournemouth) as we’ll be on back foot and looking for a break. Otherwise my team would be GK, 7 defenders, JWP, Sophie and Gabby. Bus parking time .....
To be honest I reckon City are probably more scared of us than we are of them. We thrash teams these days. Whereas they barely scrape wins against newly-promoted teams. It's in the bag.
