Many fans are saying that their team played well and they will happily take that any time. The key question is: Is it better to lose when you’ve played as well as you can or lose when you’ve played badly and know you can play much better? <confused>

Well as an Arsenal fan I know this all too well we had those later Wenger years where we would often outplay teams and loose to a counter attack or set piece.

But that's not often the case under Arteta these days - we are normally pretty hard to break down . We should have scored more.. but also our midfield pushed too high and left us vulnerable on the break. We outplayed United away and to be honest that was probably our worst performance this Season.

That would make sense as it resulted in a 3-1 defeat. The other matches you played better you won. Defending is part of the game too. If the defending is not up to standard and goals conceded from counters whilst you are allowed lots of possession, “outplaying Utd “ and being beaten 3-1 is a bit of an exaggeration ;)
