please log in to view this image Manchester United v Leeds United Sunday 20th December 16:30| Old Trafford Leeds make the historic 48 mile journey across the Penines to re-ignite the bitter feud - the battle of the Roses. It's been 16 long years since the two sides have met in the league, though Leeds fans will remember Simon Grayson's Leeds knocking Fergie's Reds out of the FA Cup in 2011. The two sides have met in Cup competitions since then, though they have been one sided affairs. The massive gulf that once existed between the two sides has all but evaporated, and are separated by just three points. Leeds have actually scored three more goals than their opponents. Leeds will be heartened by their midweek performance, having putting five past Newcastle. Unfortunately for the Whites, they can't seem to stop conceding. There are no new injury worries for Bielsa, so we can expect him to name an unchanged team on Sunday. Hernandez's cameo role would not have gone unnoticed by the Argentine having made two assists in eight minutes.
I've been waiting for this game for a long time. I hate everything about this club. I think we have a chance.
Big Sam regretting taking the WBA job as he would have been expecting taking OGS job after the start tonight On a serious note we have played on a wet, soggy, slow pudding of a pitch at home recently due to not being able to relay the pitch and the bad weather. It will zip along fine for Leeds at OT Sunday. Our pitch hampered our pass completion and caused us problems. 2 goals for Rodrigo should be enough
Vardy tore us a new one. I fear Rashords pace. Hopefully I am wrong and we can hammer the scum bastards.
Just a thought. Only Robert Lewandowski has scored more goals from open play than Patrick Bamford this season
So who plays LB because he will be facing Mason Greenwood running at him all game and if the kid plays well he will cut inside and go for goal. Is it wise to have Harrison as LB with Raphinah on the LW? Dallas would be better at LB but who then plays at RB. Rashford, Martial and Greenwood will be the fastest we’ve seen so far. Will be interesting to see how Bielsa sets them up for this
We start slowly (fck knows why) so if you come at us, you'll probably be 2 up inside 15 mins. Having said that, both teams are similar, score enough concede too many (albeit for different reasons) so that doesn't mean we wouldn't be capable of coming back to win. It's hard to call, could go either way but I'm expecting it to be a humdinger, high scoring game with a sending off (or two)
Evening Treble, why on earth does Solskaar want to keep hold of Dan James? Do you see a future for him with yo. When he first joined tho, he was awesome. What happened?
Anything can happen with this one. Bielsa once asked his players how many goals he thought they could score in a game and he was told 7 or 7. He disagreed and said “it takes in average 1min 35 secs to transfer from defence into attack and create an opportunity, so its possible to score 66 goals. Thats the way his head works
Okay but it’s never happened. Like it or not they prefer to counter attack so we play straight into their hands on that.
Evening mate, because our senior coaching staff are ****. I was looking forward to him joining. Since then he's been played out of position and left to just get on with it. Nobody's developing his game. He's raw, but has pace and technically good. Plenty of our fans don't rate him, others think he's been wasted. Either way I doubt he has a future at the club and will be off soon.
I fully expect it to be end to end. And something like a cricket score. Should be a great match tbh. I reckon tactics (ours anyway) will go out the window. Very much looking forward to it.
Or if not the same team certainly tactics. There’s no doubt that they possess the better quality of player but we have the far superior coach. Unfortunately it’s usually the quality on the pitch that counts.
