Yes. After all, no Englishman has ever cheated at football or anything else...

He didn't just do a handball, he constantly went on about The Falklands, spouting hatred, talking like every game v England was a battle in a war. At his peak he kicked a football about well and some idolise him for that, but in the larger scheme of things that isn't as important as spouting political hatred.

Some people aren't going to have many musicians to listen to if they don't like druggies.
Presumably alcoholic footballers, and there have been more than a few of them, are OK
I won't be shedding tears over Micheal Owen for cheating the Argies. or is that OK if you are English? As for Thierry Henry after what he did in that World Cup qualifier.

It's worth remembering that 'one of our own' (Jake Livermore) was fairly fond of the old Columbian marching powder...

Well they let people post some pretty nasty things, as well as cartoons and songs with people saying they were going to celebrate the death of an ex Prime Minister. Funny how some things are allowed despite the no politics rule, and other, less unpleasant ones, are deleted.

I remember Waggy scoring what he said was a handy goal but I have forgiven him.

"Pure as the driven snow am I" seems to be a self delusion for a number of posters on here.

Funny old world, some attain celebrity status despite so many things going against them, and others will always be a **** no matter how well they do in their respective sport.

once while there was an argentina game on the telly i brushed past it on my way to the kitchen and he went down like he'd been shot and rolled about like a two year old having a tantrum.

my favourite argentina game was the one where they lost to cameroon. after decades of dirty sneaky underhanded surreptitious foul argie tactics of the kind all the latin countries embraced, it was totally glorious to see some honest overt retribution handed out to them. that blatant bodycheck on cannigia - probably one of the least dirty argies, to be fair to him - had me leaping off my chair to celebrate. still brings a smile to my face watching it on youtube.

damn the cheating argies to hell. maradona's there. i have no sympathy or respect for him. the stupid thing was that they probably had the skill to win the world cup without all the dirty crap, like italian teams throughout the seventies, but chose to do it anyway.

None have 'gone', they've just been moved here as it is felt best to keep the other thread respectful, and still give the opportunity for others to discuss their views..
