Your main point was having a small guy marking a big one! It is strange though, it didn't work for us too well last year.
The main point was it's an unusual strategy which often ends up with some tiny playmaker marking a massive centre back (whether that part is intentional or not) and results in a goal.
There was already the thread below, and a recent one too. https://www.not606.com/threads/marco-silva.353407/
Just been reading the new John Le Carré book so I'm in conspiracy mode. Did Silva know Watford wanted him so he did everything he could to keep them up at the expense of us?
I'm just watching Watford now.... I;'d be massively excited if this was my team. Every player comfortable son the ball and skilful. What Simva has done to this team already is amazing. And they haven't spent spent spent either. What could have been without **** owners.
Something happened, I'm convinced of that, I don't think it had anything to do with Watford, more likely that just before the Sunderland game he fully realised what an almighty twat he was working for.
So he spunked our season cause he realised the Allams were knobheads. That makes Silva a bigger twat in my book. IMO Silva cracked under the pressure. He did great at home (excl Slumberland) but he failed miserably away. IMO if we had had the Sloots last year we would have stayed up.
He wasn't happy in the post match interview. Also looking well haggard, he's aged a bit since coming to England.
The Watford fans love him - they've already accepted he'll go somewhere bigger and better He was ****ing brilliant as our manager, maybe our players were just knackered at the end - and also with no markovic at the end of the season we were ****ed
He did well but ultimately failed. Now that might seem harsh given the position we were in when he started but losing 0-2 to an already relegated team was unforgivable - ok it could be the players who caved in but he was the manager. Having said that he clearly has something about him although he wasn't with us long enough to build a legacy. We have a different manager now to support
To be fair to Silva, Pickford had an incredible game that day then **** the bed against our closest rivals the week after.
I've just been listening to talk sport. MW 1053, the two commentators were almost pulling out their little men for a cheeky one off the wrist, I thought I could hear there zips creaking as they talked about Marco, "the real deal"and "brilliant manager" were two of their comments... sounds like they ****ing love him down south ....
