I always wanted Fellaini if we couldn't get Cesc the only other player available which i would had swapped him for would had been Ozil
That's like saying, I'd have only wanted Modric if we couldn't get Van Persie. They're totally different types of player.
Did anybody think Boateng would have been a great addition to our midfield? He was sold cheaply to Schalke I think. Boateng has PL exerience, strong, gritty, attacking threat et al. Him and Fellaini would bulldoze past opponents when Carrick was injured or sth.
from the man himself - Fellaini: "I sacrificed some money (EFC contract), but that didn't matter. All that counted was getting the deal done & realising my dream.
Fellaini: "I'll never forget sitting at home watching '99 CL final all those years ago, & I made my mind up then that United were my team." Fellaini: "I have counted myself a Manchester United fan all these years, and when the call came, I didn't have to think twice
Who knows? Let's hope despite all the fumbling in the dark we managed to land on our feet...And we managed to find the missing piece of the midfield jigsaw...I am really hopeful about MF (FFS too long to type his full name. Can anyone devise a short nickname for him quick!!!).

I know you must be on the wum, but I'll humour you Tobes. Modric & RVP: Same kind of player? No. Same position? No. Central midfield vs Striker. Cesc and Fellaini: Same kind of player? No. Same position? Yes. Central midfield vs central midfield. Where do United need to strengthen? Central midfield. Where do Cesc and Fellaini BOTH play? Central midfield.
Fellaini: “David Moyes will decide, but he knows that I prefer playing as a defensive midfielder. Fellaini: "If Manchester United bought me, it's because they know that I'm capable of playing well for them. For 5 minutes, I was in bits: I had no idea if the document had gone through or not, but everyone at Manchester United was reassuring me that it had. In 2008, When I left Standard in Belgium, I wasn't as stressed. If the deal had fallen through, it wouldn't have bothered me that much: I was young, I was happy at Standard and all my friends were fans of the club" You can't say no to Manchester United where you get the chance to play alongside some fantastic players and in a stadium with 80,000 fans. I'm finally going to fulfil my dream: to really challenge for the title and play Champions League football. Up until now, I'd only ever reached the qualifying rounds". For 5 minutes, I was in bits: I had no idea if the document had gone through or not, but everyone at Manchester United was reassuring me that it had. In 2008, When I left Standard in Belgium, I wasn't as stressed. If the deal had fallen through, it wouldn't have bothered me that much: I was young, I was happy at Standard and all my friends were fans of the club"
Fellaini - “The most stressful part was the resistance from Everton, who wanted to keep me. On the other side, David Moyes never gave up on me. I went back to plead Everton to let me go. My transfer went through at 10.59pm.
Round: “Fellaini doesn’t have the same range as a Carrick in long passing but the way he keeps the ball & short passing is very good." Round: “Fellaini can play number 4, sat in front of the defence, he can play an 8 in the centre doing box-to-box & can play a number 10." Fellaini: “I don’t have to prove myself to anybody. I know I have the qualities to play for Manchester Untied."
I wasn't on the wum at all, it was an idiotic comparison & that might dawn on you when you see the lad play.
He said that Arsenal wanted him to sign him in the summer - http://sportwitness.ning.com/forum/...l-wanted-him-and-he-ll-succeed-at-manchester-
