the only other player available which i would had swapped him for would had been Ozil

 

That's like saying, I'd have only wanted Modric if we couldn't get Van Persie. They're totally different types of player.

 

Did anybody think Boateng would have been a great addition to our midfield? He was sold cheaply to Schalke I think. Boateng has PL exerience, strong, gritty, attacking threat et al. Him and Fellaini would bulldoze past opponents when Carrick was injured or sth.
