If Jakkola stays a new Gk if he doesn't 2 GKs out of the rest Leahy, Davies Kilgour Williams unless we can get him out Tutonda Rodman, Heargreaves, Upson Grant, Westbrooke Nicholson, Daly Hanlan, Ayunga Thats 15 players to base our squad around Agogo Barrett Hare Koiki I think are surplus Hopefully Mark little can get fit and possibly Kelly can be persuaded to stay with some of our up and coming youngsters to make up the numbers with 4 or 5 new signings to freshen the squad up including a STRIKER and if Wael can use his influence McCormick back on a another season long loan unless he can find the cash to make him a permanent signing
CJS I actually think he will stick around, when we have lost the next 2 or 3 games and are relegated in all but fact I hope that some of the younger players will be given the opportunity to show what they can do
Clark always had a settled side and a plan. This season has been a mess, and I think there have been too many changes and the players needed to be allowed to play the simple game.
I hope he don't stay, not because I dislike him as a person and I don't rate him as a manager but we will be in L2 and he has never managed in L2 before. We will want an immediate return to L1 and we will need to have a big clear out. A manager with no experience at L2 while given the freedom and funds to start fresh is a massive gamble and I think keeping him will be a mistake. But I get to save more money though.
Interesting article on Bristol Live about JB and the future direction of the Rovers. If you google Bristol Live Bristol Rovers and read an article entitled the great reset
The problem with all these resets and clearouts is that you get no continuity, you don’t develop a spine to your team or an identity to your club if you’re forever chopping and changing. The longest serving player at our club is Alfie Kilgour and he’s only played for us 50 times, next is Michael Kelly who can’t even get on the bench. The best formula for success is the one that wins games. Coughlan stumbled on that formula and I bet most Gasheads would prefer that situation with his direct tactics far more than the predicament we find ourselves in now. Remember going in 2-0 down against Southend down the Mem? Then tearing them apart scoring 4 goals in the second half! Ah - fond recent memories. Can’t see us replicating a comeback like that for quite some time yet.
Kelly can't get on the bench because Tisdale sent him to Yeovil on loan and while I believe that Luke Leahy is a very good player I think especially now we have lost Nicholson we should move Leahy into attacking role and would have put Kelly as our defender behind him. Kelly's message to the supporters when he went out on loan almost confirmed that he will not be returning, hopefully JB will get him and Davies back and keep them in the team / squad
Anssi is back and Martinez gets a first league start in what looks like a rather experimental lineup! Poor Anssi and Pablo - talk about a baptism of fire!
Walker also playing Last game I saw at the Mem was us beating Sunderland 2 - 1 should have had a penalty but the ref booked Hargreaves for diving instead
Ha! JCH has just scored 2 goals in 9 mins v Accrington. More than our entire team has managed in weeks!
1 shot on target 0 - 1 down Why was Leahy booked for his challenge but their bloke gets away with pulling Walker back and we don't even get a free kick At least massive won't get the points for the first goal this week Rovers i think are now bottom but 1 Thought that you were not allowed to have people attend matches but looking at the number of people in the stand behind the managers I a have obviously got that wrong
Just got back from walking the dog and half an hour of the second half gone and in that time we’ve had zero attempts on goal.
I was kind of hoping we may get some luck today. So I just checked the scores and surprise surprise, not scored and we are losing. Being desperate for points, we has Barton waited until the 70th minute to make a sub?? What a joke.
Meanwhile... Wigan 0-0 so gaining a point. Wimbledon 0 Northampton 0 so they are both gaining a point. Just to rub salt into the wounds.
