The bottom line is we are heading back to League One at a rate of knots, and all the selfies and PR in the world won’t change it.

Matt is on Twitter and is copping a load tonight, but that’s the price you pay when you get loyal fans hopes up.

I’m sick of copping a packet under a succession of useless owners at Charlton from 2006 onwards, and the excuses about injuries are now starting to wear very, very thin.

Is Southall just a PR man, or so he going to show his mettle and get us what we need - new players ! And signings - not crap freebies and loans.

 

Southall acts like somebody who can't believe his good luck at being in the position he is in. If we don't bring in four quality signings we are heading for League 1. I am fed up with Southall posing with fans. Just do your job and get those players in.

 

The incredible thing is, we haven’t even touched the sides yet of what needs to be done. The defence is awful. We’ve got 3/4 full backs - Solly seems out of the picture, and Page is a joke. Is Sarr playing left back for the rest of this season ? We are down if he is. Purrington has been exposed...there is no partner for Lockyer. The list is endless. We should have been on to this from Jan 1st.

 

It seems that the BFG had a free header for the Preston winner today... the fact that he scores goals from corners must have come as a surprise to us

 

So far the indications are that the new setup won't deliver. It also looks to me as though Steve Gallen was happier operating at L1 level. I don't doubt that he's working overtime to get players in, but the brief is different now. ESI have been around since August, yet we seem unprepared for the situation. The fact that Douchatelet still owns the land can't just be ignored either, what is the "legal obligation" for ESI to buy in 6 months? Atm the club and the land are separated, which is not what we expected. Southall was welcomed by the fans with open arms, but so was Meire at first, until the club descended into chaos.

I can't believe the way Matt Southall is being hung out to dry.

He hasn't even been in the job for three f**king weeks.

I'm not even going to go near the vile abuse he is doubtless receiving on trolling platforms like twatter.
Don't have to really, after reading the kicking he is getting on this forum.
Our collective lack of backbone and nerve makes a jellyfish look hard in comparison.

Makes me ashamed to be a Charlton supporter.

To be honest though Lardi, Matt Southall has put himself out there, & achieved what so far? He Tweeted a pic of his jolly with the Posh chairman, said we had two targets ...and what happened with Toney and Maddison ? After Gallagher slipped through our fingers against the players wishes he again Tweeted that he was delivering signings. We can’t even get the kid Bryan who nobody has heard of from Sheff Utd over the line. I said weeks ago that Southall will come off Twitter very soon in this job and much of the feedback he is getting tonight is fully deserved. We don’t want to see him sunning himself abroad this week when we are stating down the barrel of a totally avoidable relegation.

 

The tweet with the Peterboring dude ended up as a porky. Coffee only and no transfer talk

 

Do you intend to still be Southalls' number one fan when we get relegated; because that is where we are going......?

I’ve just had a read through Matt Southall’s timeline on Twitter today. It’s worth pointing out that he’s not getting abuse from our fans. Just a lot of understandable frustration of the “sort it out” variety.

Just frustration. Many fans didn’t even tag him in, me included. But he needs to massively up his game next week. He can’t afford too many more like the one he has just had.

 

Turn it in, ESI have been working for us for weeks before the bid was accepted.

My gripe is primarily with the off the field b*******. Ultimately players will come in, to what standard we need to wait and see.
