Thanks **** for that, another sponger off the payroll. Sunderland flop Charis Mavrias has signed for Karlsruher SC after having his contracted terminated at the Stadium of Light. The 22-year-old Greek winger has signed a three-year deal with the German second division side after his unsuccessful stint on Wearside was brought to a close. Mavrias - a £2.5million signing from Greek side Panathinaikos in the summer of 2013 - made just seven first-team appearance for Sunderland. He came on as a second half sub for Karlsruher SC at the weekend in their 4-0 defeat to Union Berlin. Mavrias made 14 appearances for German second division side Fortuna Dusseldorf in the second half of last season after joining them on loan in January.
He must have been bad he barely got a game. Like Comm said I thought he'd already gone, definitely not going to miss him.
Another one bites the dust, we've certainly got shot of some dead wood this summer even if it has left us a bit short handed it can only be a benefit to the club in the longrun. Happy days.
He was highly rated when came here. Second youngest player to play in the Champions League. I think its a shame that it never worked out for him or us. We seem to often bring in highly rated players from other places, only for them to flop. I wonder how we compare to other clubs in that respect?
I actually thought he looked decent the couple of times I saw him and he didn't make a peep of complaint so fair play to him. Asoro will be a good test of what you're talking about, we know that he's genuinely highly rated by some top sides and if we manage to stifle him it'll be our fault. I don't think we will though, Moyes showed from day one that he's not shy about giving young players a fair go.
Pretty sure his contract only ran until July this year and he was on loan from January to the summer - so not sure how he "had his contract cancelled) - someone correct me if I'm wrong
I think Moyes' approach to youth may well make a difference. I think changes to the scouting system will probably have made a difference to our success rate too. I just wonder why, over the last 10 years or so, we've managed to sign a number of foreign players, highly rated in their own countries but who've flopped with us. Vergini, Scocco, and Angeleri are some other examples. Did our scouting policies not consider whether these players had the requirements to adapt to English football and culture? I know its not a massively relevant issue, I've just always wondered about it.
10k? He was bought like Watmore for the u21s. Can't see it. I heard from when I was roker report it was more 6k,
6K a week in my world now is like a lottery win.. Thank **** I'm on the last hurdles.. I can't believe so many talentless people, from football to tv to politics earn what they do.. When I normally see these people stance, I see their IQ around their ankles..
Oh I know, agree entirely. Still peanuts to a football club who's tried and failed to get 40k a week Danny Graham off their books for 4 years and all the other high earners it applies to.
Totally agree as well In the case of Danny Graham, man that **** got lucky.. He should suck O'Neils balls every night that twat and change his ****ing pads when he can't get up.. I'm sure Steven 'the flesh' Fletcher could help him mop, couple of ****ing ****ers..
