Sunderland 3-0 in the Cup, United I think he got the second goal (we did end up losing 3-2 though). He loves scoring big goals.
The daft thing is that of all the players that have left I think Meyler is one of our most important, yet he stayed, no one seemingly wanted him. Wtf was Bruce thinking, if you only had the budget take one, Elmo or Meyler, which would you take? Anyway I'm chuffed that he's still here, however it's happened.
or put another way and assuming passes completed means to our own player 328 passes made - 1 lead to a goal, 79 went to the opposition 56 duels - 19 lost lets not get carried away here - he had a very good game against Wales, a poor Wales side - Grosicki had a very good game against a poor Bolton side, it doesn't make him some kind of talisman and one of the best players we've ever had who should be the first name on the team sheet, it really doesn't Meyler has been ok recently and he more than deserves his place in the starting 11, - lets see if he can produce this kind of form for a prolonged period rather than just the last 4 or 5 games - sorry to poop on the Meyler love in, but seriously get a grip
I did wonder how long you could hold back. Meylers easily the first name on the team sheet and a no brainer for team and club captain.
Our good start to last season in Premier coincided with Meyler been in form. The difference for me between him and many others is when he is having a poor game, he doesn't hide. That makes him an easy target for the boo boys.
Only 79 passes being ineffective is pretty good considering that can mean going to a contest a City player lost. Losing 19 duels again isn't really that poor, what's a comparable number for, say, bowen?
I'm confused - is Meyler the second coming (as in this thread) or a useless donkey (see the Forest matchday thread)? Is there a schedule that our views on him are meant to be following? If so, can someone post it so I know what to post and when?
