2 bits of speculation there. If we draw Celtic it could get very ugly. I have no doubts we'd get thumped by ra way. I don't think the possibilty of drawing the jungle jims in a 1 off game should be enough reasoning to bring in these carthorses to do 'a job', for 1 game, personally.
We could easily be drawn against them and we'd get a right ****in doin with the team we have just now. I don't think Miller or Daly can be described as carthorse's and I don't think either of them will be on big money. Those two along with Law and Clark would see us improve quite a bit. Law has been outstanding for Motherwell. If he could just dig up a cheap Centre Half in the Marvin Andrews mould we'd be okay for now.
Most people accept that we need to lower our sites and ambitions whilst we climb back up the leagues, but buying/signing players in case we draw Seluk in the cup is pure folly. Nae wunner we are losing £1m per month. Give Hardie and Stoney a chance, a real chance to make it. I'm telling you, the lad Hardie is a player, if he can keep his head down and continues to improve then he could be a mainstay in our side but if we're going to flood our side with elders with the mindset of "whatever it takes" then in 5 years, we'll be back in the SPL playing ****e football, with guys who are mercenaries and everyone will be moaning about how we can't compete with England, how we're crap in Europe. We need a fresh approach, we need to lose the obsession with beating Celtic as the be all and end all. We have a unique opportunity to build a legacy at the club that could last years, let's grasp the opportunity and not waste precious money and giving guys like Miller a final pay day.
I know of a guy, total bluenose, whose son is about to get signed by Celtic. Greet wee player - Petrov type. Celtic scouts have been to watch his team 6 or 7 times. The team are horsing their league ... Even though the team is virtually on Murray Park's doorstep, Rangesr scouts have been once.
It's not just about that though, is it ? Rangers supporters are very demanding at the best of times and we want to watch a team and players worthy of our season ticket money. As for building a legacy ? I think that's just sheer fantasy. Right now we're lucky we still have a team to support never mind anything else. And as I said earlier, Miller doesn't need the coppers we'll be throwing at him, he's a multi-millionaire and just wants to help the club and Ally out. He'd score a barrowload in that division. Haven't seen enough of Hardie and Stoney to pass comment.
Forget him playing for Celtic, we shouldn't sign Miller just for this picture alone. http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_6ZDKfjMROq8/TS1g_EwJjYI/AAAAAAAABzM/A8xypZ-Qivc/s1600/Miller-Kenny.jpg <horrific>
Rangers fans have been served the biggest pile of crap last season and still went. I'd rather go to Ibrox and see our youngsters get a proper chance than having Miller brought back. Why is it a fantasy to be building a legacy? This type of short-term thinking has ****ed us in the past, we need a vision of where we want to be. It's not an accident that Man U, Ajax, Barca have produced many of their own great players. They invest into their systems and reap the benefits. We pay lip-service to ours produce **** all.
Said it before and i'll say it again, McCoist has no idea. If Charlie Green was still there he would be out the door.
And when they're getting ****ed and failing to win a Pub league, what then ? It's about the right blend and Miller would be a great signing over the next few seasons.
