Travel Sickness Strikes Again!!!! I hope the allergy disappears by the time they reach Gillingham but I have my doubts. PS¨20 million pound price tag on Curtis.
Disappointing but no time to panic. It appears we were by no means over run but could not capitalise on early chances created. Looking back on the last 14 games we have reasonably good overall form and our team selections have become more consistent when injuries have allowed. From looking at the extended highlights it did appear we were rather exposed at the back. The first goal came from a long ball that drew an individual mistake from Raggett but there should have been some cover defence from such a long ball. The second goal was a good shot but in the build up we appeared to leave some wide open spaces. Similarly their third but, to be fair, by that time we were chasing the game. So my conclusion was that our central defence was not on song. In the press they seem to be suggesting we strengthen the central defence and left backpositions. We have four specialist central defenders in the sqad ( one of them on loan) and three auxiliary central defenders in Walkes, Naylor, and Hawkins. I think Whatmough returning offers better odds on solving the problem than panic buys in the transfer window (if he can stay clear of injury). also at left back we have two good specialists in that position ( both currently injured but they will return) with Walkes apparently performing reasonably as a stop gap. In short, while we have suffered two disappointing away results, our best bet is to have faith continue on the same tracks.
