You don’t need a phone signal or internet. It’s near field RFID, you put your card next to the machine. It goes beep. You have paid. Happy to get more technical if you want ???
Funnily enough last Sat I was attempting to pay £6 in a car park. This woman was in front at the machine and her card had jammed/been refused/ been eaten. "Stand aside madame," I offered " Let the cash men get their tickets" With that lovely satisfying clunking sound I fed the coins into the machine and it duly rolled out the sticker, as the woman looked on enviously. Cash ueber alles, then now and always. Happy to get less technical every time.
cash is dead… shall we bring back the telegram?? Damn those threashing machines or why do we need automatic weaving-looms?? Modern technology —— noo Or maybe the horse drawn carriage to get to away games. It’s progress. Accept it.
The tech is too temperamental and prone to unexpected **** ups of one type or another, above all for small transactions.. I use both. I know which one is more reliable......
get to ****….. I’ve never ever had a cashless payment fail due to tech. you’re embarrassing yourself now.. do you still use an abacus in case your calculator could run out of battery at some point??
I only ‘pay’ in car parks by bartering other similarly valued items or services Sunday in Prinny Quay is normally one small shot of mead
By using one of a number of various bank cards at a bank, a cash machine, or cash back when shopping. Keep your options open.
Good to keep your hand in for the day when the internet dies or there's a power cut. The kids today will have no idea.
Good point Must right down the mead recipe instead of just bookmarking it as a favourite on my head brewers phone
I have 3 bedrooms ( 4 beds - 4 mattresses) and 2 couches (settees?) in the lounge (sitting room?). Cash, no problem! Edit: A pretty steep gas(petrol) bill and heavy auto(car) maintenance bill. Yours truly, A. Luddite.
Our National stadium is cashless and manages to serve 90,000 people without the massive queues we get with 9,000. It’s quicker, cheaper and nobody can nick the cash, which is probably why Ehab is a fan.
