Big Nasty , 2 40 doncaster , the horse just in front , Who’s In The Box won lincolnshire national next time , keighley has his string in good form , 7/1
there’s only 14 lb between top and bottom , these are half ton animals that can crap a 6lb turd ......so no , won’t worry about that !
I'm sure we have had this conversation on the forum before but I'm sure it makes quite a difference depending on how the weight is distributed (ie whether it is the jockey or dead weight). A naturally good horseman will virtually eliminate the extra weight by the way he rides the horse compared, to an an unatural horseman
yes , we’ve explored it but not in a scientific manner , but iirc , unless we know the racing weight of each horse , it’s all pretty irrelevant ?
Doncaster 12:30 Ardglass Star Rose Dobbin has a good each way record with her runners at Doncaster in handicap hurdles over the last 5 seasons: 8 runs 2 wins 2 placed PL 11.00 Ardglass Star has run his best race one year ago when 2nd at Catterick. 2nd run after a wind surgery today and a good conditional up. Worth a small each way bet.
Doncaster 1:05 Ernesto Listed winner and group placed on the flat in germany. Current owners bought him for 115,000 Euro. Failed to fire in flat handicaps in britain but could have a future in the NH game like many other horses coming from germany. First time cheekpieces and the booking of Bryony Frost could have a positive effect today on his hurdling debut. Stable amongst the winners recently.
Doncaster 2.05 Solwara One Maybe interesting to know for you what Neil Mullholland told Attheraces about this horse in his stable tour for the 2020/21 season: "He finished second in his bumper first time out at Wetherby last year and came out at Uttoxeter and he had to work hard to win but I would say it was a good race. He is getting ready to run over hurdles in the next fortnight and is a nice big horse and a chaser in the making." Stable remains in good form.
Lucinda Russell about her runners today: " Speak Of The Devil has run very consistently over fences and if, as we expect, he is suited to the galloping track and better ground at Doncaster he should be a very solid each way proposition. Aurora Thunder won cosily at Ayr but then looked to not stay at Carlisle and the drop back in trip should play to her strengths. This race qualifies her for the Northern Lights Final which looks a good target for her."
1:20 - Le Tueur This is going to be a right old slog, but I think the Bowen runner has lots of upsides here. He won last time out, he comes from a yard going well, he is unexposed, he goes in the ground, he stays well and he is on a light racing weight. They have interestingly put headgear on here, with cheekpieces for the first time, which suggests they think that he isn't concentrating in his races and if they can get him to sharpen up, he could easily show more improvement from this new mark. 3:10 - Lily Of Leysbourne This is a really competitive race, but as such you would be getting a big price for a horse who has lots of twos in her back form. She has been off for two years, but from what i've seen she retains ability and a mark of 107 looks very generous. I would expect that the yard have her spot on for this return and she has Paddy Brennan onboard (he could have ridden at Hereford).
That is one heck of a training performance and a lovely patient ride by Paddy, so happy for connections who deserve that. Hope she is sound and well tomorrow.
