Interesting, I only read this morning that Maurizio Sarri was meant to be the man they wanted. I'm quite surprised by this, while big clubs, Tottenham and Roma aren't in the top, top bracket. Kind of an admission by him that he's no longer at the top of his game.

I know what you mean but inter were not at the top when he went there and won league and European cup double. The waiter then took over and ruined them again to point they've only just userped juventus again to win the league. I'd expect romantic to do a lot better. His style favours older players and the Italian league imo.

Yes, that is a very good point. I particularly agree with your last sentence. I've got a little bit of a soft spot for Roma, so I'll be interested to see how he does.

Watched the Totti documentary this year and was interesting view of roma. Mind that lad didn't lack confidence at all.

Not seen that to be honest but certainly will do. I used to love watching Totti- partly the reason that I like them. That and a deep interest in everything to do with Rome. Had a long, in depth conversation about him and del Piero with an elderly Italian lady on a train once. She loved him too!

Weird time to make this move given the resurgence of the Milan clubs.

Winning anything with Roma will be a miracle.

I took the wife to Rome for her 40th a few years back and the day we landed (Sunday) it was Roma's last game of the season and Totti's last for Roma. Seriously everywhere we went women, men and children we wearing Roma tops with Totti on their backs. The lad was a superstar there and they loved him for his loyalty.

We went into a restaurant (where the locals ate) and in the corner was a tv with the game on. So I sat there watching the match with a Peroni and pizza (it was heaven). I spoke to the waiter when he came to refill our drinks and I said, 'wow' big night for Roma and Totti!! He looked at me and with a finger to his lips he whispered 'Lazio' and patted his chest where his heart was....... Priceless.
