This is very good news for the young man Shame it puts him in the bigger shop window Hopefully he can go on to bigger and better things within our squad next season http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17726873 Apologies if this has been reported elsewhere!
Well he has signed a long contract.........so he will be off then Lets hope he is a rare young man who actually honours a contract
Congratulations Sean It's great news for him...great news for the Academy...and not so great news for us!
Dear God you lot are such pessimists!!! Have you read the article!?!?! He has said several times over the past weeks that he wants to develop himself more and that he knows he has a lot of work to do. . He knows the best thing for him is to stay where he is, he is getting more game time than Marv is at Bolton and that is how he is going to develop.
And leaves for peanuts or nothing at the end of it? Hell no. It has pretty much become standard practise that a valuable player leaves two years or 18 months before the end of his contract. My hope is that he extends his contract for at least a year beyond 2015, because I'd hate to see him and us considering a transfer next summer.
Certainly deserved it he's been outstanding for watford since Jan especially this month. If watford were to try and make play offs next year then he is certainly the one watford need to keep hold of.
If he has a think about what has happened to a certain Mr Sordell then he might stay a bit longer. I'd rather be playing for a first team than reserves or picking splinters out of my behind whilst watching the first team. Take note Mr Murry. Time is on his side too.
Marv at Bolton is the best way to prove to the Academy kids that the best place to be is with Watford...but what will happen when EPPP begins.is anyone's guess...
I would hope that the situation does not change. Just because you train at a big fancy training ground with a big club does not mean a lot. Just look at the 4 unlucky scholars who did not get contracts. They have trained with us (arguably the best academy in the country) but have not made the cut. Then if you multiply that by 5/6 because the big clubs cherry pick the best, it makes competition incredible. Surely it would be safer for them to stay with us?
yes Dan, and they know that, but they may not get an option...that's the worry. Though speaking to my favourite Academy player, they do know which side their bread is buttered..

I wondered how he beat the keeper from there - seemed to be destined in the top right and ended top left - beat me each of the 6 times I have watched it.
I think he will stay between 2 and 3 seasons before moving on. I think he wants to play at least one season in the Prem with Watford if at all possible. If that happened he may well be worth 20m + (inc add-ons) I really do think he is going to be top top class by 25 years old.
