Bit off topic discussion on a Sunday! What would be the following for yourselves! Favourite song to date - Most hated song to date (preferably with some back story for clarification!) - Best artist seen live (if any) - Guilty Pleasure (see who the sad twats are!) -
I can't stand that tub thumping chumbawompa shìt or whatever they were called. Rap music fooking can't stand it. Down in the tubestation, the jam. Tin soldier, small faces. I am the resurrection, stone roses. To name a few Can't help falling in love, Elvis. Obviously, I do love that song and its hairs on back of neck anthem for me, I try different ways to play it on guitar including finger picking acoustic and fast punky muted chords lol.
Favourite song. One more ****ing time - Motorhead Most hated. I will always love you - whitney houston. Cant stand her....all that warbling man, its horrendous. Best live band. Iron Maiden. First seen them in 1980, but the gig at the Arena in 2018 for the Legacy of the Beast was the best I've ever seen. Guilty pleasure. Miley Cyrus singing country stuff. Got a superb country voice.
Hells Bells - AC/DC Grandma We Love You - St Winifrds School Choir KISS - Perth Arena. Never seen a better show in my life Guilty pleasure - Gin Wigmore - Black Sheep
Follow a few local punk/new wave cover bands, but like most genres with the exceptions of heavy metal, rap, grunge and house music..
Bit off topic discussion on a Sunday! What would be the following for yourselves! Favourite song to date - Third Finger Left Hand - Martha Reeves and the Vandellas Most hated song to date (preferably with some back story for clarification!) - Sideshow by Mr Big. Just hated it everytime I heard it Best artist seen live (if any) - Well, I was at Rolling Stones Free Concert at Hyde Park in 1969 so its got to be them. Joke is I did not literally see them, we just lay on the grass at the back just listening to the sounds Guilty Pleasure (see who the sad twats are!) - Well I like Judith Durham (seekers), great voice. I like her rendition of 'My Happiness' with Max Bygraves Im probably the saddest twat on here...............
Aha-Sun always shines on TV David Geutta - Child (or something) Cold Play at the SOL Stevie Nicks - Sara live
Favourite still 'Blue Meaning' by Toyah Hate hucknall, hate his voice, his face, his voice, his hair, his voice, Best live, Danielle Dax, in 89 Guilty pleasure?????? Theres lots I used to dislike but now they invoke happy memories, so maybe abba fit here.
I’ll keep this recent as I have a wife and varied musical taste that spans as far back as the twenties (so I’ll leave my guilty pleasure till last) Anything by the Teskey Brothers at the minute and definitely a band I’d like to see live. Recent excellent live artists have been Joanne Shaw Taylor and Larkin Poe Hated song... nothing really music, even **** doesn’t upset me enough to hate it Guilty pleasure , Jolson.
Cant get past the first hurdle, here are a few songs that hit me early doors, Rock Island Line Hound Dog, Peggy Sue, Tutti Frutti, Whole Lotta Shaking Going On, Run Around Sue, Be Bop A Lula, Sweet Little Sixteen, Only You, Bye Bye Love, then like a lot of my contemporaries, Kieth Richard, John Lenon ( hows that for name dropping) I started listening to where these songs originally came from, and from then till now it starts getting complicated, but the best band I have seen live, was maybe Led Zep at the Mayfair, my best experience was meeting Don Van Vliet and discussing Newcatle Brown in the City Tavern before his show next door, he came in with the rest of the band, plus John Peel, Richard Neville and Jermaine Greer, ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ
Imagine - John Lennon Hate anything by Eminem.....Talentless prick (just hate rap in general) Coldplay amazing concert Guilty pleasure... Billy Holliday
behind blue eyes, the who. anything by queen after the sheer heart attack album. the who and ten years after simon and garfunkel
What would be the following for yourselves! Favourite song to date - Spirit of Radio (Rush) or Carry on wayward son (Kansas) Most hated song to date (preferably with some back story for clarification!) - Human (Killers) or Penny Arcade (Roy Orbison) I work the pubs and clubs and every singer did them - I did Human the week it was released - learned it quickly and it was great, then it got done by everyone and that was the end for me!! HATE IT!! Best artist seen live (if any) - James Taylor - Edinburgh castle circa 2013 - Unbelievable and a lovely fella too - time for everyone Guilty Pleasure (see who the sad twats are!) - George Ezra! Saw him live last year and he was tremendous!!
Totally agree with this. I think I have posted this before but I have the distinction of being the 1st person barred out of HMV in Sunderland. I was at the counter buying something and this lad walked up to buy a record. Cannot remember what it was now but akin to the birdie song or some sh*te like that. I said if you buy that I will hit you. I was very passionate about music in them days. He bought it. I hit him. Banned. Obviously older and wiser he may well have been buying it for a present or whatever but that didnt enter my brain pattern at the time. Will post later. Good OP but so many choices.
See a lot of hate for "Rap music" such as Eminem - I am a musician and singer and I love Eminem! Lyrically he is superb IMO!! Amazing Got to be one of my favourite threads this!
Yeah I hate the birdie song and that o superman got right on my tits. That Orville duck song would make me want to punch the fooker with his hand up the ducks arse.
If your talking about songs that reminds of days gone. Sailing, rod Stewart, Abracadabra, Steve miller. Seasons in the sun, Terry jacks. Life on mars and space oddity, David Bowie. Whole of the moon, Waterboys To name a few that transport me back
I think Music is very much like food in as much what you like or dislike is very much subjective so for me it doesn't matter if you're a chef or musician if someone doesn't like it..end of story. I doubt very much wether John Lennon will feature in peoples top song of all time....it just does it for me....as does EVERYTHING done by Pink Floyd
