It sounds like a good idea to me. Give them something to play for and it'll also help people to understand how we really compare to other nations and may even end this ridiculous cycle of everyone thinking we're going to win the WC, being outraged when we don't, and then saying we're worse than St Kitts and Nevis for the next 3 years before the cycle restarts.

 

England would probably do better in a league format than a knockout one.

I'd rather watch women in summer dresses.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy a good world cup and that. But otherwise I would't miss it if it went away.

To be honest I struggle to sit through 90 minutes of a non city game these days.

I'm just not as into football in general as I used to be in my youth.
