I recall having noticed it on the TV planner on TCM or some similar channel. I have it on DVD collection. It is a wonderful series.
It was on telly in 2001, on the BBC I believe. You can get it dirt cheap on dvd/bluray, I don't know what streaming services (legal ones anyway) it is on. EDIT: Just looked, you can buy the boxset on Amazon for a tenner on regular dvd or £15 on bluray. I imagine you can find it cheaper elsewhere though too. Also it seems to be on Amazon's streaming service too.
You can get it for £8.00 in CEX. I know it's mostly pre-owned in there but i've never had anything that hasn't worked ok from there.
I'll check it out. I've heard nothing but good things before and obviously this forum seems unanimous.
Let us know what ya think. It is one of the best I have seen, that is if we are still on the Band of Brothers theme. I would compare it to Saving Private Ryan for quality.
Just finished rewatching Band of Brothers over the last week with my wife today. It's ****ing amazing. Parts 2, 6 and 7 particularly. She cried her eyes out and I would have too, if it hadn't been for the grit in my eyes making them water. Has anybody else watched 'The Leftovers'? 3 seasons tied up nicely. We thoroughly enjoyed it, a bit miserable but it's clever. 8 out of 10 from me but 10 from my better half.
I watched BOB, that's band of brothers, I'd rather watch Bob to be honest far more entertaining. I watched the first episode years ago and just didn't like it. Just a seen it all before feel to me. But I'll have to give it another go after all the recommends on here.
I can strongly recommend The Americans. Me and the Mrs watched the first three series back to back the other weekend. Fortunately I was the one facing the telly.
Saw the film American Assassin last week. It's worst film I've seen in years. And it's not even entertainingly bad. Just bad.
Not a box set, but I'd recommend the documentary Supermensch Film about Alice Coopers manager, but that's only a small part of his mad life Funny Sad Uplifting Brilliant
Looking forward to the return of Curb Your Enthusiasm after a 6 year hiatus. Back on early next month.
The first episode is just establishing the characters, it gets good when it all kicks off in the second.
Yeah, Curahee is definitely there to build up the group so you give a **** about them later on. It's still a great episode, though.
Watched all ten episodes of Ozark over the last few nights, it's left me hoping that there's a second series. Seriously good!
